First time viewing The Challenge as a Big Brother/Survivor fan, Part 10(Battle of the Bloodlines)

2020.09.11 17:14 Sanity0004 First time viewing The Challenge as a Big Brother/Survivor fan, Part 10(Battle of the Bloodlines)

So my run through of the seasons continues, this time with Battle of the Bloodlines. I put a TL:DR or overall thoughts down at the bottom if you don't want to go through each episode. Check my posting history if you want to check out the past seasons I've been through so far.
Thanks for reading these, they're fun to make and make going through the seasons more enjoyable.
EP 1:
I thought Camila was short, but she seems a head taller than her sister. Damn
Not surprised Jenna is back.
I feel like if they were going for a season of bloodlines they could have tried for more vets or big names from the challenge to at least use it as an excuse to get some people back. It seems like they went the easiest route possible and got half of the previous season and some rookies and a whole bunch of pointless add ons.
I'm really worried I'm not going to like how this show changes moving forward... lol
Fucking Johnny and his god damn speeches
Oh, I didn't even recognize Kellyanne.
Damn, the son is coming up and they're still just drinking and hanging out
"Expect the most maniacal twists" after literally the first thing resembling a twist ever happens
Why were we robbed of Cohutta and Kellyanne, or even Nany on Exes 2, rather than fucking Bananas
Caught a weird angle on Christina and really thought they snuck Casey on the season for a second.
I really never understand the people that come on here and literally think they can openly cheat. Like God damn, how do you have anyone trust you if you think you can get away with it on a show let alone real life?
Guy who is cheating says they didn't hook up, girl who doesn't care says they did lol
Coming in and throwing out shit like "typical woman move" is definitely the way to come in as rookies lol
He literally has nothing to say
Angry drunk casting strikes again
Imagine coming in this game with a family member as a teammate and going out for fighting with the same family member lmao
Wait...is this the house from Seasons? Or another season? I recognize those stairs that Sam got pushed down right beside of!
He didn't hit you Shane, but I'm preeeetty sure you hit him a few times.
THEY get the clear? Pffft production is so damn wishy washy
So you thought Jenna being worthless was so entertaining you thought it a great idea to bring her just as useless cousin on with her. Great.
Rules must be stopping them from collecting water from the moat that has collected around the hill lol Just fall over and go "Oops, I must have picked up a little extra."
Leroy even mad at his damn sibling!
God damn, Johnny is murdering this.
Oh no people may be trying to come for Johnny? Unfair! lol
I seriously can't take the cartoon drawing on Nicole that she calls makeup.
Seems weird to have male and female days when there is multiple teams with both male or both female. If it's a female day do the all guy teams not even try because it doesn't matter? I'm confused? This seems dumb.
Having the rookie make a speech about putting someone up because they're a rookie? lol seems smart
Vince starting shit lol
EP 2:
I'm only just starting episode 2 and I think I hate this season. This may be my least favorite cast from the jump.
Uhhhh, did Cara just give a Hand Job to some RUTO random, WHILE SHE'S DATING ABRAM?!?! What in the shit Cara?!?! Cara just plummeted in my mind. Eeeesh
Every time I see Jenna and Brianna I suddenly get struck with a wave disgruntlement.
I hate this cast.
Starting off early with the eating challenges. I'm ok with this.
Interesting that they chose to do this role/position aspect randomly. Doesn't usually seem like their thing.
It'd be weird to have the snake cuddling around with you, but I honestly can't see being all that freaked out about it. The bugs definitely has the worst end of the bargain.
How are they possibly going to determine the worse out of this lmao first to give up?
Eh, some people didn't do near as bad as I thought. Kellyanne seemed to struggle going in but looked to blow it away.
Jenna and Brianna continue to prove their worthlessness.
Again, don't understand the discrepency between the girl/guy days. Could the girls literally have just not tried because they assumed it was a guy's day? This seems so dumb.
Wow, Kelleyanne looked like she killed it. Shocked she was at the bottom of guy teams.
With the way Cara was orchestrating the helping of Cohutta last episode I'm assuming Johnny is going in against Cohutta? Maybe I shouldn't get my hopes up.
Oh, I guess she's just going to Cohutta and seeing who they want.
Ugh, I hate this fuckin' cast. These twins just seem like all talk. Notice they get all snappy with Cara, but even though it was Cohutta that called them out they don't go to him at all?
Awe, Cara has Diem on her arm.
Nany just blowing up Cara's spot. So I'm assuming Cara was thinking there was no cameras in the bus and then suddenly Johnny has a gopro and suddenly Thomas needs to go?
God damn. Nany's sister looks like a damn cartoon character with her makeup.
I feel like Aneesa is trying to get Jenna/Brianna to quit lol "She's not even cute!"
Again, why. Why the fuck was Jenna brought back and why the fuck did they think her trainwreck cousin was worth bringing on with her?
I agree with Cohutta, these people are insanely crazy. Fucking hell.
I feel like Cohutta is doing terribely with this Elim. He's not even trying for the ball. Once he tackles him he just wraps him up and sits there.
Wait wait wait wait. Someone just talked about wanting to quit and only staying for their cousin and you're going to switch up teams to where she has no motivation to stay? What?!
EP 3:
Ok, so they're doing Survivor style swaps. Teams of two now swapping to two big teams. I'm ok with this.
As much as I hate Johnny, Cara is smart to grab Johnny first.
Cara's cousin is looking at this much smarter. It's more about saddling your team with the worse people than it is about picking the best.
Cara's team is getting fucked right now with these picks lmao Candice, Brianna, AND Aneesa's family member. That team is fucked. Was Johnny not trying to help with the picks at all? I can't imagine he'd be quiet.
I'm loving the recycling of challenges from the last couple seasons.
I was about to ask why Cara looked like the least secure person to jump but then I remembered she has a height fear.
Did they literally get Candice to walk off the challenge and directly in to a confessional? lol They wanted to get the shot with the blood.
I like this voting mechanic. That's gonna be rough.
Nany just randomly voting Aneesa just to be a bitch lol
Camila don't fuck around with her politics. You wanna throw out her name you better
Nany, you didn't vote for Larissa, but you also threw away your vote instead of voting for Jenna. I feel like you took some notes from Johnny. Also, I again bring up the fact that Nany and Johnny were kissing Jenna's ass at the last reunion.
These fuckin' throwaway votes lol Aneesa and Nany are playing bitchy. Not voting against Camila doesn't do shit if you could have voted for the next closest person.
Ok, at least the team came around to their senses. I don't know what they were thinking.
The way it was being determined I thought maybe they were done with the representing aspect in the elim, but calling Camila and Briana up makes me wonder if it will be Camila vs Jenna.
Jenna wins one elimination and wants to be cocky lmao
Hope this Tony dude is ok, but I'm perfectly fine with Shane/Tony going. Bye.
EP 4:
Shocked by Candice and Leroy. The big toe stops you from competing?! I would think it'd be more out of fear of the lip busting open again and getting worse.
Guess I was wrong about the representation aspect in the Elims. Makes it a lot easier to get rid of strong players with just voting in their weaker partner.
I really wish they didn't make so many elims dependant on body weight and size.
Bye Camila. You got screwed. I would have actually liked seeing Camila vs Jenna in the same elim.
"We're going to be here to the final." "Yup, probably." Good enthusiasm Brianna lmao
Oh no, Johnny lost two of his numbers in one night. :c
Eeeeeeesh, Every time I see this Cara/Thomas shit I just cringe super fucking hard. Jesus.
So many damn people cheating on this show. God damn!
I love when people are completely opposite what they show from their confessionals lmao Cory, all over Aneesa, gets told by his partner to shape up. Gets in confessional "She's showing me she's more childish then I thought. I'm gonna put an end to that." -Jennifer Lawrence ok.gif
Nany and Johnny are definitely the cheifs of hooking up and not really letting it effect their games lol
Damn, another pair gone.
Oh shit. Oh SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT Huge fucking eye emoji. HOLY FUCKING SHIT.
Abram, coming in to this house right now is fucking hilarious. Cara, just straight awkward.... Oh fuck hahaha
This season JUST GOT INTERSTING!
Oh god the awkwardness. I love it!
Johnny and Nany fucking loving it!
Abram doesn't look like he's in the best of shape though...
Cara shockingly doesn't look happy or excited.
AND Trivia? Best episode ever?!
I feel like they've asked this 60/60/60 angle questions multiple times now. I wonder if it's a trivia staple. I also don't think anyone's gotten it right.
God, I hate so much of this cast. But hey Abram is here and I am so ready for this drama.
5 sides on a stop sign? What?!
Fake face girl of all people winning it for the red team? Shocked.
Damn, I thought trivia was going long but that's the end of the episode?
EP 5:
What a weird place to pick up on an episode. It's like the old half hour episode days.
"I wouldn't lose a day of sleep if Banana's fell off a cliff." I knew I liked Abram.
What....just happened? Did Abram's brother volunteer to go in to Elim? Like...why? The crazy gene is strong with this family.
Cara STILL hanging around with Thomas. What is in this chick's head?!
Kellyanne...
"I don't want to talk to that bitch(aneesa) either." Cory going downhill fast.
You think Aneesa is dumb enough to fall for this obvious politicking kiss ass? You dumb rookies.
Aneesa, don't be stupid.
I'd usually be all for newbies coming in and fucking shit up, but most of these rookies are just annoying as hell.
"You're showing your true colors." Cory, you literally only even talked to Aneesa to get a vote. Who's true colors were seen?
"Nobodies afraid ladies." These twins are nothing but mouth.
I don't even know who this Anthony guy is... lol
Mitch looks like he's about to cry when this Anthony guy votes for him.
It sucks that so many people went home so quicky because I feel like the format didn't get to play out as well as it could have. They're basically forced now to vote for alliances rather than trying to weaken or strengthen teams. Which I think is the best part of the teams/pair aspect of this system.
Johnny is a douchebag, but Dario and Raphy are really not ones to talk lol
TJ just smiling and nodding watching it all. I love TJ lmao
Throwing off his mic. Isn't that like a big no no? I remember everyone jumping in and trying to help Jasmine when she almost did that. Like they didn't care before that, but as soon as she went for her mic everyone jumped on her to stop her.
Them being mad at Aneesa is fucking hilarious. You guys basically dogged her and only talked to her for her vote. Ya'll are idiots.
They're saying the vote was in Aneesas hands, but are they going on the assumption that Mike would have voted for himself? Because even with Aneesa's vote the decision was off by 2?
"Did they ask you if you saw them come out of the bathroom?" God damn Cara. What the shit. This isn't even like the Paula situation, where Yes Paula was shit for what she did, but Ty was pressing that shit constantly and it was weeks of it. Cara was hooking up with this dude like a week in. God damn chick.
I remember thinking early on that Kellyanne seemed more mature and stable than a lot of people on the cast, from seasons like The Island or Ruins, but I feel like she's just gotten more childish and insecure as seasons go on? Aneesa's acting just as stupid in this episode, but Kellyanne just seems kind of like the desperate girl trying to get attention from all the popular guys or something. It's a weird energy.
Jenna not considering things racist? Color me shocked.
"2020's in hindsight." That's definitely not the saying, but god do I wish Kellyanne.
I can't express how hilarious it would be for the twins to lose this lmao
Using only his arms lol, what a dumbass
Oh fuck. His damn foot slips! He fucking had it!
Hahahahaha the bitch twins gave up and tried to wine about the yellow hitting the line lmao
What idiots. All mouth, and then they're mouths get them the loss. Wow
Aneesa, wise the fuck up. Cory just wants your vote at this point.
EP 6:
Oh shit, A Dirty little secret. Ominous episode title!!!!!
Johnny at yoga is pretty funny, not gonna lie
I love Abram's hate for Johnny. He calls it true! "False friendships, selling people up river, just false to your face." So true!
Love the Johnny hate Abram, but you're definitely letting emotion effect the game my dude.
People can't stop talking about Cara/Thom. lol How is she not walking around this house with an ulser with worry of who's going to say something.
I would love nothign more than the guys get to a challenge and TJ just saying "First thing first, Cara we have to address something." I would love nothing more than for TJ just to put the drama out there RIGHT before a challenge.
Its challenges like this that really shows the benefit of vets and experience.
Kellyanne offering to go in? Saves time I guess.
Johnny, I understand not wasting the time in fighting for Nany in deliberations, but to vote for her is just stupid and pointless. You're not gaining any face with people already gunning for you by voting for someone who everyone knows you're aligned with. You're doing yourself a diservice voting for Nany. You're just being stupid.
Like Nany says, throwing his vote away would just back up what he's said for years. He's so loyal isn't he?!
I had genuinely no idea who Anthony was lol
"No matter what I do is the wrong thing." Well yeah, when you do shit that makes no sense but is some weird veiled attempt at supporting your team or garnering favor. You're a dumbass and just as much talk as Raphy and Dario
Who the hell is Cara talking to? Who is Jamie?!?
It's been two seasons of Nany crying over Johnny, yes she still has feelings for him.
He didn't want to make his girlfriend mad hahahahahahaha Johnny's been the one to talk up in the reunions how people hide from cameras to fuck and all this shit. Not voting for a friend is the most hilarious copout that is so empty.
Fuuuuuck, 50 times?! This is a better test of endurance. Damn. I think Nany has this one easily.
Oh god, AND Kellyanne has some kind of chest cold? Good luck chick.
Kellyanne actually won. I'm shocked. The comp having a bell on each side actually made it easier than I thought. I was thinking it was only on one end.
I'm happy to have Nany's sister out of the house lol
Hahaha I love Johnny basically saying "come at me" with this Cara secret. Let this alliance see if it can stick shit out. You have a crazy guy on your house just waiting to blow up lol It's dirty, but I love it.
EP 7:
Cara continuing to just call it flirtation is great.
Wait wait wait. Is Johnny really just having his Cousin go out there and blow it up? You giant pussy! Johnny wanting to keep his hands clean and leaving it up to someone with no fucking sense of even how to talk.
Cara, you suck ass.
Cara just trying to pass it off as trying to get further in the game is really a shit way to handle this lol What a way to try and pass your shitty behavior off as "gameplay"
"I did say that, Johnny." "It's cool Abe!" Johnny not in power is so much better than Johnny in power.
Abram is straight chaos and I love it. It has saved this season.
Aneesa how the hell long have you done these. What weak shit.
Cara needing stuff to be easier for her is hilariously sad.
Abram is insane, and I fucking love it.
I feel like Abram came in with the entire mindset of wanting Cara to win. Him and his partner wanting to go in to elim as soon as they got there, him wanting to get Johnny out and not wanting Cara to team with him. I think his whole mindset was to go in and just help Cara.
Of all the things to NOT have Abram himself being in the elim?! Destroying shit! That would have been hilarious to see.
Fucking "Home wrecker" Wooooooooooow
This elim is fucking awesome.
Abram causes himself to get a bloody nose lmao
Can we just talk about Abram barking like a dog and quietly in the back ground Jenna and Briana are spinning in circles? What?!
Stephen literally can't even get through the tiniest table hahaha
This is not even close. This is so damn sad.
Motivational crazy Abram is my favorite Abram
Oh Cara, come on. You're just now going to talk all about this breaking up shit and saying Abram there is harder for you in the game. Just be real, you're upset your new cuddle buddy left and you're upset Abram came in to make it awkward for you on tv. That being said though, why were you even still with him? lol dude is crazy. But you don't cheat on the dude!
EP 8:
Throwing it for Kellyanne? Johnny wouldn't even talk during deliberation for Nany lmao
At least everyone is clearly talking about how shitty Johnny is with his game. He's dirty, but he talks like he's a damn saint lol
I am continually shocked everytime this Jamie dude shows up on the screen lmao
Wait wait wait wait. CT and Diem's sister are joining the game? I'm about to fucking cry! It seems stupid late in the game to impliment a new team, but it's CT! I don't care!
No colored shirts, probably just an audible on the specific challenge.
I'm going to cry! "Do it for D!" I love CT!
Faith seems more interesting and has more screen presence in like one confessional than half this bloodlines cast lol
I'm pretty sure they just gave Aneesa the "Complete" but she looked like she fell a whole square before the yellow line...
Johnny "helping" lol This is my issue with Johnny. He can't just do shit in the open. He talks so much shit about Wes throwing shit, but he had a reason to and he owned it. You couldn't even talk during deliberations to help Nany and pass it off as saving face with a team, then not wanting to upset your girlfriend. But here you are throwing a competition and sabotaging other players to help a different girl. You're fake as hell and you just hide from it so plainly. It's disgusting.
I never remember who this Jamie guy is but at least he's calling Kellyanne rightfully out.
Hahahah Johnny's face when they get announced the winner. I love it.
Kellyanne fucked up talking shit lol
There's only 3 people that can go in and only one is going to be safe. There's no real reason to be angry at this point.
Jenna and Brianna getting screwed by Johnny too haha Only now realizing it. Johnny promises everyone everything and just watches as they all go out one by one.
Vince out of nowhere with "I have to go by performance today" haha yeah that sounds like Johnny, not owning up to the reason behind their choices. Had an alliance from the jump with Aneesa/Jenna/Nany and basically two of those are getting screwed over and Kellyanne is moved up the pecking order over everyone because of Anthony lmao You people are so damn dumb.
Kellyanne literally can't even defend Anthony hahaha
Oh here we go, Johnny voting against his alliance people to "save face" haha
I'm happy to see everything is finally coming to head for Johnny. Just wish these people weren't so stupid to believe it in the first place.
CT and Faith!!!!!
Kellyanne came back on the show because of Diem passing? That's actually really sweet. Not sure how true it actually is but I'd give her the benefit of the doubt and find it really touching. Kellyanne comes off more authentic than Cara does with her writing Diem on her arm and saying Diem for a trivia answer.
Vince wanting to start shit with CT? lol Dumbass
"I heard me and you would have been competition in the past." "In the past you would have already been knocked out." I love CT
Please tell me Jenna and Brianna are finally gone.
What in the holy hell is Kellyanne doing? lol She blows a huge lead by trying to flip the blocks and worry about their sizes? Jenna just comes in and throws them all up like it's nothing.
Anyone falling for Johnny and his bullshit has no one to blame but themselves. Kellyanne and Anthony just watched Johnny fuck over Nany, why did you think you'd be any different?
EP 9:
Of course Johnny wouldn't like Abram. He's too honest and not willing to believe his bullshit.
"Creepy uncle Vince" This show has a weird track record with Vince's
This is a cool scary challenge lol
Brianna didn't even try. Jesus.
Oh my god these people. Four in a row not trying! What in the hell?! You can't go under fucking water?! Did I miss the description of the task? Were people throwing it to have the fastest swimmers do it?
Abe getting in the box and cracking up. Abram is insane and amazing tv.
Everyone joking about Abram taking the chance to kill Johnny is reallllllly weird?
Some of these comps, I wonder if TJ hates that he even has to be there for them lol They're under water the whole time and TJ just announces when they're out. I'm surprised he's not sitting in a chair under shade having to be reminded to blow the horn.
If you told me at the drawing of teams that Red team would not lose a challenge I would seriously not believe you.
Vince saying he's not worried about it when he's been letting the team down constantly lol Of course he isn't.
Yes! Get rid of Johnny before it goes back to pairs!
Johnny running off to shore up his easy votes like easy. Doesn't give a shit about them, throws them in, but oh wait I can get their vote!
"I just hope you're not just sweet talking me." Jenna, you're a dumbass. He's only talking to you when it comes down to your vote lol Good thing it's Brianna with the vote and not you. She seems to buy less of Johnny's shit.
It's funny how Johnny doesn't play the "rookie" card and "earning stripes" when the rookie and person who's been terrible is tied to his fate.
Fucking Brianna and Jenna. Ya'll are so dumb. You are going to instantly get screwed right after this.
Call em out Abram! Call em out!
I have a feeling Mike is just going to throw this for Cara. Like I said, Abram just seems like he's had the mentality of helping Cara along since he's gotten here.
I get CT again, he was already there....but why Zach? Is it just to show off that he cut his hair off?
Comparing Zach and CT is laughable.
Could you imagine if Johnny was in the pit and was taken out by CT again?!
CT looked like he came in to kill someone in Cutthroat. He looks a lot more relaxed coming in here.
Hahaha Jamie looks like a child in this competition. His head just constantly being pulled against the wall.
Jamie, no matter how often being told, just refuses to use his legs.
"I think I'm nicer than CT" Oh Zach... that's funny. You have two full seasons of screaming at your female team members.
I'm with Aneesa. Hearing "Cuz" and "cousin" this often is just weird.
Of all the eliminations to bring in ringers for, this is kind of a boring one.
There was basically the only real risk left for Cara. I would say they're chalked in for the final at this point if not the win.
EP 10:
(With absolutely zero people paying attention) Vince: "Stupid bar tricks." and tries to blow a ping pong ball in the air, for no apparent reason or directed at anyone? What even is this dude?
Yes, a mini final! I hope this is a new trend of having a mini final every season.
This basically is a final with only 3 teams having any kind of chance at this lmao Aneesa and Jenna and their pairs have jack shit of a chance.
Brianna carrying this weight that looks bigger and heavier than she is! Lmao
"There's rocks on the ground!" Jenna... You say some of the funniest shit unintentionally.
I really wouldn't call struggling with the first leg "gassing out" it's more like they're suddenly struck with the struggle and just need to adjust and get on track. It's not like they're to the point of not being able to walk. They just aren't used to climbing an incline with a bag of weight on their backs.
I'm actually shocked by Cory and Mitch being so far behind everyone.
Ok, I spoke too soon. Vince legit looks gassed lmao
The two teams I didn't think even had a chance are leading hahahha
If I was in some kind of pool or betting for this show Cory would have me so pissed. He is being pathetic for how much you would just be looking at him and thinking he'd be better.
This monkey bar checkpoint would be terrible if you can't do it on first try. If you can't do it the first time, why would you be able to do it a second or third time?
Weird spot to have a girl/guy differential in the comp.
Cara just fucking booking past Bananas lol
The puzzle going to be the equalizer? Aneesa going from first to last?
It's a credit to editing that they somehow turned 15 minutes of Aneesa and Rianna struggling on the monkey bars in to like two whole segments.
Last to first? Holy shit! Wow
The challenge was actually surprising as hell in just about every way. Wow
"It's going to be a hard decision to make." What? How?!
Johnny just doing anything to keep himself out of Elim lol "Jamie sucks, he'd be easy to beat." Definitely not Vince, who's been terrible throughout the season. Not at all!
Good god, if Bananas and Vince scraped by again I would have flipped my shit.
"Knock these egos down." Vince, I didn't expect you to be so self aware...oh you weren't talking about yourself. Nevermind, carry on.
Johnny saying "If I go in and beat Cara, this could be considered one of my best wins I've every had." rings to me like Bananas trying to excuse a coming loss after the fact. Like he loses this elim and then wants to preemptively talk about the competition of Cara as being some huge win knowing damn well he loses. Fucking Johnny, I hate you if this happens. This is such a fucking Johnny move to belittle his loss like it was a big competitor. If you lose it will one hundred percent be because Vince is godawful at everything.
STOP SAYING COUSIN!!!!
It sounds like Johnny is thinking this is a color related puzzle, but I think it's more about the pattern of the lines. I don't think they have it.
Johnny is gone!
The Challenge is starting to get that Survivor problem where some big competitor leaves just short of the final and they started to put in the fire making challenge. Stuff like CT leaving before Free Agents, Johnny/Nany in Exes 2. There's an aspect of lesser competition getting to the end simply because the two big competitors face off leading to the end. Cara vs Johnny in the final would be more interesting than Jenna being in another damn final, or Aneesa and her partner having no chance.
EP 11:
Location change! This seems like a standard at this point...
Oh we checked off someone having to ask where it is. Even for Berlin.
Aneesa talking about getting this far and then failing, and then immediately sabotaging and tearing down her cousin.
They walk in to this hotel and it looks like it'd be the location of an older Real World season lol the weird furniture and colors everywhere.
Aneesa seems completely uninterested in even trying to care about her family member she brought in to this lol
Aneesa's like I'm just here for the money, and Rianna actually seemed to want to get to know her family member and have a good time.
All Aneesa talks about in these confessionals is needing Rianna in the game and to get her head in to it. Rianna's just talking about Aneesa being standoffish and rude. Maybe one of those things would kind of help the other? Like, give Rianna a reason to care to help you win money, or want to work harder for you. You might as well be Zach screaming at the girl.
Another cool competition. This season's cast has been lackluster, but the challenges have been on point.
Aneesa just seems so angry and bitter at this point.
Cory/Mitch blowing it away.
Aneesa sees her final fall away before her eyes.
Oh god. Cara says "Fustrated"...
"Then go to another country!" Aneesa says as if she has a choice...
Wait wait...it's come full circle. Now Aneesa is yelling at someone else to figure out who they are and who they wanna be. I've heard that argument thrown at Aneesa way too much.
Is..Is Aneesa talking about Cara right in front of her, like she's not there and not even a human? lol Aneesa, are you getting to Robin and Katie levels at this point? My brunette crazy drunk crush squad is closed up, sorry.
I definitely think there is a quality of fakeness to Cara, but Aneesa, I think you're a bit off the mark with her accent and how she approaches the game.
Bar Wrestle back, if there was anything Cara could come up short on.
I love that they try to act like an elbow or knee during the bar wrestle is dirty, but continue to keep bar wrestle in the game because of this exact aspect of it.
Saying Jamie won against CT is definitely stretching it lol
Jenna two for two in finals? Underrated great competitor? lol yeah right.
EP 12:
Jenna being the one to talk shit about being in a final... What reality is this?
Franz! A tailor?
City Final!!!!
A part of me would actually love Jenna and Brianna winning this lol
Oh yeah predictions: Cara/Jamie > Cory/Mitch > Jenna/Brianna
Cory and Mitch having to sit on only the second lap lol
Only the guys seem to have issues with this. Maybe 120 is a little much compared to the girls' 60?
"Janky carnival games"
Oh Cara come on. Literally crying from just fake beer?
Cara, you have rookies talking shit about your whining! THIS is how you handle drinking liquid?
Jenna and Brianna are just killing this.
At this point I purely think Aneesa lost her mind with Cara because of how much she had to hear "Cus" and "Cousin".
Jenna and Brianna blowing it away, just waiting for them to blow it away just in time to hear it's only day 1.
Part 1 ughhh. I miss marathon one day style finals. I don't care if it makes the final less suspenseful, or if one team blows it out of the water. I'd rather see people have to fight to not give up entirely.
Oh, is it still one day, just two parts?
EP 13:
I hope they have to swim in these suits.
You can just not eat them and get a 5 minute pinulty? Is that enough time?
Oh no Cara's worst enemy! Liquid!
Good god, Jamie seems like he's about to fill up that damn bucket.
Oh I see, it seems you have to eat everything, there is just a time limit for how long you have to get them done.
Jenna, also with no gag reflex. Zach seems to have a type.
TJ, amazing actor.
This city final has been a complete disappointment.
Just a random 2 mile jog around a track to end it. Did they just run out of ideas for finals?
These number puzzles and tangrams are again just like fire making in survivor. If you come in to these games not practicing these puzzles and learning basic strategies for them, then what are you even doing here? They come up just about every single season. Especially with the likelihood of people coming back multiple times. There's players of Survivor that will practice every single TYPE of puzzle they use and they have a much lower chance of ever even coming back let alone seeing the puzzle again. This show you're likely to come back on and likely to see these puzzle types. Do your damn homework!
I came around on Jenna/Brianna a lot. Happy to see them finish it.
Cara winning just seems tainted lol Like, I wasn't necessarily rooting for her so much as rooting against Johnny and then against the rookies and Jenna.
Reunion:
I hate when any show or episode starts with random teasers for the episode. Just get to it.
Vince starting the episode looking like an idiot.
Nicole looks less like a cartoon character.
At least Jenna is looking at all the elim's positively. Saying she had to make up for the previous season and never going in.
Bananas kissing ass of Jenna again, she must be coming back again...
Rianna looking good on this reunion. She looks a lot different than she was on the show.
Zach has a way of just cutting people off... geesh. Seems like a child that doesn't know how to handle a break up and just cuts, runs and hides.
Cara already crying, and they haven't even gotten to her yet.
Ugh...watching Abram's face while watching this. Ugh this is hard to watch.
Cara sit there and try to be mad or cry. You made your bed.
Abram about to cry.
Quit giving the fucking out that she did this because she was caught up in wanting to win. Fuck that noise.
At least she owns up and goes straight to Abram and says something.
Abram's tattoos just get worse and worse.
What the fuck is she trying to talk about with this being seven seasons about Abram and wanting the season. Way to take a fucking nose dive after starting off great.
This is just gross. Cara started off great, but damn it took a dive.
It just sounds a lot like fucking up and trying to find a lot of reasons to excuse it.
Didn't Thom himself say there was a handjob? lmao Cara, now you're just lying.
I hate Johnny, but I'm with him. Fuck this trying to bring up other peoples shit. Just be honest.
Quit giving her the fucking out that this has any fucking thing to do with the game.
Cara, wow. "Let me count my money. Who sent you home?" Well, that is definitely the way to address it lol
I loathe Johnny, but I agree with him when he says Cara saw she had an added number to her alliance and that was a huge factor of not telling him. She evne said it herself that she knew how he would react. She didn't want him to get DQ'd or possibly get Thom DQ'd. That's why she was upset when Abram wanted her to vote Thom in elim. At that point I do think she was just thinking about numbers and was trying to not talk about it. I don't think her getting with Thom had anything to do with thinking about the game, I hate that that is even suggested, but it definitely changed how she handled her decisions.
Can we literally not even talk about the fact that Johnny wasn't even willing to TRY to talk his team out of voting in Nany, but he was willing to throw an entire challenge to save Anthony/Kellyanne. Seriously not going to talk about that?
It was a game vote, what were you gaining? Everyone knew you were in an alliance with her and no one would care? You gained nothing, quit trying to squirm your way out of it.
Literally holding a trailer hostage to get a hashtag trending lmao
I feel like these reunions completely ignore the more pressing or interesting questions to just go for the direct and simple questions that might spark the most drama. Like not bringing up that Johnny tried to throw a challenge for Kellyanne and didn't mind not saying her name, but wouldn't even speak in defense of Nany at fucking all.
At least we're bringing up how god awful Vince was. Jesus. I'll just say it, Vince is more of a hindrance to the team than Big Easy.
"He purposely threw half of those." Fuuuuuuck out of here Johnny lmao
Good god, don't curse us with that Johnny, I never want to see Vince again. Cory is probably the only person from this season I could bet we see again. Maybe Jamie, but I doubt it.
Johnny, who has won finals with two other partners "This is the best partner I've ever had" haha this dude will literally say anything.
Why torture me at this point with hearing "cousin" more. Why?!
Overall thoughts:
I ended up coming around on this season quite a bit. The first two episodes I had absolutely zero investment. It brought in the worst parts of the previous season and then added half the cast being pointless or throwaways. The season ended up coming around, I think, due to the editing and the building of stories and drama. There wasn't a ton, but what was there was put together pretty well. Not only just the Cara and Abram situation, but also the individual elims, even though I never cared about any of these people, actually had interest and swings. I think the biggest disappointment of the season was the final. I was actually coming along and enjoying the season finally, you give me a "city" final and then it's so boring and bland and has almost nothing to do with the city other than kayaking down a river in the middle of the city and one part being in an abandoned subway. This final was an absolute bummer. It could have had the most interesting and athletic players in it and it would have still been a stail boring ass final. It's sad that the last couple seasons the mini final that they have within the season has been a better race or show of endurance than the actual finals have been.
I miss the long marathon exhaustion inducing finals. These finals are getting really lame. Fuck the winners coming down to times on the combined parts. Make the shit a race. Between the casting as of late, the group of players to continuously return, and the final going more and more down hill I'm really worried my interest and trust in the show is waning. I really hope it isn't so. I know I've heard some good about some seasons coming up, but I just don't see some issues being all that addressed.

2020.05.23 08:58 BudRock56 The Making Of A Sasquatch Widow

I remember those painful days of adolescence like they were yesterday. I was like any other kid, I guess: a little shy, a little brazen at times, and desperately trying to figure out who I was. But for the most part I just wanted to be invisible. Having attention drawn to me was the worst possible thing that could happen, I thought. So I avoided it at any cost.
It did not help matters that my family was always moving from town to town for my dad’s job. We would stay in a particular city just long enough for me to start to make friends and gain some amount of comfort. Then we would move again.
When I was a freshman in high school we moved to a little town in Georgia. The culture in this particular school was rather hard on me. But I was a big kid. So rarely did anything get out of hand. If it did I usually picked out one of the kids in the cool clique and beat his ass. I did this partially to get the kids off my back; partially out of anger for being the outside kid; and, I think, to push others away so I could have my space.
I always ate lunch alone, sitting by myself at some little table far away from everybody else. I rarely said a word to anyone. Looking back I think I suffered from profound loneliness. But back then it was easy to conflate my feelings and allow them to develop into anger. I was deeply alone, and I convinced myself I liked it that way.
My dad passed away from a heart attack in the summer between my freshman and sophomore years in high school. My mother had a job and was able to support the two of us, though money was a lot tighter without two incomes. It also meant that we would not be moving anytime soon. So I returned to the same high school for my sophomore year.
That year was tough for me. My grades were ok. But I still suffered from acute social isolation. The only thing that really brought me any pleasure was baseball. I followed pro ball intensely. I was also a pretty good baseball player. I thought about trying out for the school team. I was sure I could make the cut. But something kept holding me back. The social aspect of it just caused me too much anxiety to the point I could not stomach it.
There was a girl in a couple of my classes this year that I had never noticed in my freshman year. Her name was Allison. One day during lunch I was sitting by myself as usual, lost in my wandering thoughts that I relied on to get me through the day. All of a sudden, there she was. She sat down at my table across from, smiled, and asked if she could sit with me. I nodded yes.
I was immediately baffled, as I could not fathom what force of nature sent her my way. I was defensive at first. Why did she want to sit with me? Did she really want to be seen with me? I figured it must be some sort of goof.
She started asking me all sorts of questions. Did I like school? Did I have a girlfriend? What kind of music did I like? She seemed interested in me. But I was not convinced. Then I noticed that a couple tables away was a group of girls I recognized as Allison’s friends. They were looking at us and laughing. Then abruptly, Allison got up, said goodbye, and went over to her friends’ table, where they giggled and kept glancing back at me.
I thought “what a fucking bitch. Fuck them all”, then became lost in my thoughts again. They were fucking with me and I did not like it. But that was not the end of it. Allison made it a point of coming up to me out of the blue and talking to me, sometimes with her dopey friends tagging along, and sometimes not. She even started flirting with me. I knew she was fucking with me. But at the same time I kind of enjoyed the attention. If nothing else, it broke up the monotony of high school.
Later in the year I turned 16 and got my drivers license. My mom even got me an old pickup truck to drive. I started driving myself to school. I even got an after school job and started earning a little money. Driving was empowering. It also meant I was growing up and getting closer to getting out of this hell.
One day in study hall Allison popped down in a chair next to me and started asking me about driving and getting my license. She was not quite 16 yet and seemed genuinely interested. I offered to drive her home after school. She agreed, but only if I would take one of her friend’s with her. I told her I would.
By the end of my sophomore year Allison and I were dating. She was my first girlfriend. She was, in fact, many “firsts” for me. We grew very close. We became each other’s best friend. I even started to tolerate and become friends with her stupid girlfriends. I treated her like a princess, and she treated me with kindness and respect. We even went to our junior and senior proms together. She really pulled me out of my shell. We became inseparable, and everyone knew us as “Bud and Allison”.
After we graduated, Allison went to a state college in Atlanta while I went to a smaller college about an hour north of her. But we still lived in the same neighborhood and saw each other every day. Eventually we got an apartment together. Her parents and my mother understood but were not exactly happy about it. They were from another time and considered living together outside of marriage to be improper.
By our junior years in college we were already making plans for the future. We would each take jobs in our chosen fields, and we would get married. Married ... at 22, and starting our lives together. It seems like pretty heavy stuff to me. But I could think of nobody else with whom I would rather share my life.
I had already developed a keen interest in Sasquatch by this time. Allison thought it was a little silly, but she would not say so. She just left it alone and let me have my “fun”, as she put it. We would sometimes go on camping trips together on the weekends, to the deepest woods I could find. She enjoyed the outdoors as much as I did. I even got her to take up fly fishing with me!
But Sasquatch is always where she drew the line. I have always been an outdoorsman, since I was a kid. Dad would take me fishing and hunting all the time. In fact, it was while dad and I were on a camping/fishing trip that I first learned about Sasquatch.
We were sitting up late one night, sitting by the campfire. We started hearing wood knocks. Dad asked “did you hear that?” right after every knock. I started getting nervous because I was young and it was dark. I asked him what the noise was. He told me that it was how Sasquatch communicates with each other in the woods. We sat there in those dark woods until 2 in the morning listening to no less than 3 Sasquatch do wood knocks to each other.
I immersed myself in the subject after that. I learned all I could. I wanted to see one but dad always said that would be too dangerous. As I grew older and entered adolescence my interest waned. But then, after dad died, and after I met Allison and had my confidence restored, my interest in the subject caught fire again. Maybe it made me feel closer to dad. I don’t know.
I encountered my first Sasquatch when I was 20. I left Allison at the flat studying for finals while I went on an overnight fishing trip in the north Georgia mountains. I was wading in a remote stretch of creek fly fishing for trout when an eerie feeling crept over me. I turned to look behind me just in time to see one of these creatures cross the creek I was fishing in one step. The size of the beast was unsettling. It was absolutely HUGE! More unsettling was that it crossed the creek then disappeared. There I was. Standing there in the creek, in the middle of nowhere, alone with a menacingly huge Sasquatch. I high tailed it out of there.
I did not tell Allison about my encounter. It was a life altering event, to be sure. But I knew if I told Allison she would think I was crazy. She certainly would not want me going on any of my fishing trips anymore. So I remained silent.
I continued going to the mountains to investigate Sasquatch. My cover was always that I was going on fishing trips. The fact was that after my sighting I became a little bit obsessed.
By the end of our senior years in college I had 3 more visual encounters with Sasquatch in those north Georgia mountains. I believe that 2 of those additional encounters were with the same Bigfoot I initially saw. That animal was non-threatening despite its huge size. It seemed more curious than anything else. The other Sasquatch was different. It was menacing. It stalked and harassed me all weekend, then finally bluff charged me twice on my hike out of the area.
As Allison and I exchanged our thoughts about our future together after graduation, she started to become a little agitated by my now weekly “fishing trips” to the mountains. She felt like we ought to be spending more time together.
At first it was not a big deal. It is, after all, a quite common thing for a woman to complain about her man going fishing all the time. When I mentioned this to Allison she countered that such was usually the case with married couples who had been together for years, and not 20-something year olds just starting out their lives together.
Then things got worse. Allison found the photographs I had hidden under our bed. “Bud, what are these?!? These things in the photographs ... they look like ... APES!” I confessed that I had taken the photos on my fishing trips.
Allison immediately freaked out when she learned I was having encounters with Sasquatch. In fact, she laid down the law and said she never wanted me to go back to those mountains. She was afraid I was in danger. When I tried to defend myself she asked whether I was going up there JUST to see Sasquatch. I convinced her that they were just “incidental” encounters.
The shit finally hit the fan the weekend following graduation. I had been out of the woods for over a month and I was agitated. We had a little fight and I stormed off in a huff. While I was gone she decided to start cleaning out our closets since we would be moving soon. That is when she found my cache of weapons. The .50 BMG, my AR10, my .45-70, my .480 Ruger revolver, my 2 .50 AE Desert Eagles, my AKM, my AR-74 with the extra hole, my .357 magnum, my 10mm Glock, my slug gun, and boxes of ammo for each. She also found some of my squatching gear.
The guns really pissed off Allison. She is a liberal gun-control advocate. I tried to convince her it was ok; these guns were strictly for Bigfoot hunting. Of course, by telling her this I was essentially admitting that I had been lying to her. I was going to the mountains to see Sasquatch behind her back.
Allison told me she felt betrayed. I was doing secret stuff. I was not telling her what I was really doing in the mountains. She said she felt like she did not know me anymore. Not only was I putting myself in danger, and thereby jeopardizing our future together, but I was actively trying to hunt and kill one of these monsters. She was inconsolable.
I packed up all my guns, ammo, and other gear and left that night. I had already stolen her credit card to buy some night vision optics. So I just went ahead and used her card to pay for a week at a nice hotel while I figured out what to do.
Allison called me 2 days later and said she wanted to talk. I met her the next day at the apartment. Her eyes appeared red from crying. I could hardly stand it. It pained me greatly to see her in pain from a broken heart, especially since it was my fault. I told her I understood why we could not be together anymore. Allison looked at me with a shocked expression on her face. “I was thinking we could try couple’s counseling and try to work through this”, she said.
I was heartened that even after my betrayal this beautiful and dynamic, sweet young woman still wanted to be with me. But the fact was, my heart now belonged to another. I said “Allison, baby, couple’s counseling ... it just won’t work, honey. I have already planned a month long hunt up in the Cohutta Wilderness Area. But, I mean, if you want to schedule something for the following month, then I will see if I can squeeze it in.”
Allison just put her face in her her hands and cried. At that point I decided I needed to hit the old dusty trail. I gave Allison back her maxed out credit card. Just to show that I was acting in good faith, I also told her I drained her bank account for ammo and cocaine.
I never saw or heard from Allison after that. It’s too bad too because she was a good girl. I had a real keeper there, I thought. But, then again, there was the undeniable truth that if she was not going to accept my Sasquatch lifestyle, then we were not going to work. We simply grew apart. As Peter Steele said, “There is nothing so cruel as the truth”.
In hindsight I know I made the right decision. Being a Sasquatch widow is no life for a good woman. It is not fair to them. That is why I stick to whores and bar skanks. You are either a Sasquatch man or a cuck. There is no middle ground.

2020.02.17 03:58 ND_PC The r/MtvChallenge Fantasy Tournament: Redemption House - Day 21 (Round Five)

Welcome to the fifth round of the redemption house. Blink, and you’ll miss it! The fifth round is TODAY only! The winners of this round will face the losers of the semifinals of the main bracket. Intense! At this point, we’ve got a 4-1 team and seven 3-1 teams remaining in the loser’s bracket, while all teams in the main bracket enter the day at 3-0. Basically, that means the redemption house has more experienced players, and even a few teams that have won more matches than anybody in the main bracket. So... is this really the winner’s bracket? No! Don’t kid yourself! You were knocked out of the tournament, ya loser!
But worry not, for this is a safe and positive atmosphere! Join us as the loser battle heats up with even more head-to-head fights for redemption. Together, we’ll find out which team can overcome embarrassing losses, terrifying finals, and (supposed) voter insanity. While nobody will re-enter the Winner’s Bracket, you may just find yourself the Ruler of Redemption.
Before we get to the voting, let’s recap Friday’s fantasy match-ups.
Real World Bracket
Finally, Chet is gone! We can dance like the ewoks celebrating on the forest moon of endor! Look, I like Theresa and Momma Day as much as anyone else, but Mr. Perfect Face practically ruins this team for me - no offense u/harsh-femme. And who better to eliminate him than Nehemiah? (Answer: literally any other player, this is so anticlimactic).
Sadly, we’ll have to say goodbye to the pride of Marquette and the mother of Easton, Miss Theresa Gonzalez. If this was like the videogame NBA Street v3, the victorious team could trade any player they wanted to the loser in exchange for anyone on that team, and u/dolfan2354 would exchange Amanda for Theresa. It’d be an upgrade in almost any stat category you can think of.
But this isn’t NBA Street v3, this is the MtvChallenge fantasy tournament, so u/dolfan2354 is stuck with the team they have. It’s worked out for them so far! Seriously, this final had a little bit of everything - Thai bead stringing, coconut water, eating, puzzles, swimming, paddleboarding, climbing, running… everything. At some point, it becomes about who gets exhausted last, and who has the mental strength to complete the final. This might be a biting take, but Da’Vonne would probably get irritated the easiest of these eight competitors and check out mentally on the first or second night. I could also see Chet doing this. Meanwhile, Derrick K, Nehemiah, Veronica and Amanda would have no quitters, and would fight through the exhaustion to claim the victory.
So congratulations, u/dolfan2354! You’ll move onto the next round which is, uh, right now! And to u/harsh-femme, thanks for competing in the tournament, and we hope you had fun.
Road Rules Bracket
Welp, Team Likability’s unlikely run to the fourth round of the loser’s bracket has come to an end. I was rooting so hard for Kyle (who probably has the best sense of humor on the modern show), Josh (who wears his heart on his sleeve better than anybody), Sarah (who is an innocent crossword-loving funster), and Nany (who was the show’s sweetheart for so many years and we don’t need to talk about her paranoia on War of the Worlds 2), but they met their fate today. That’s right, Amanda Garcia has won two finals on one day. Buoyed by CT, probably, and Mattie being stronger than Nany in the minds of many fans (oh gosh, now I want to see this), Satan’s Asshole comes out on top once again.
The Fresh Meat II final featured canoeing, tangrams, sudoku, mountain biking, weight carrying, more sudoku, and mountain climbing. While in my mind these activities all live in the wheelhouse of the untouchable goddess Sarah Rice, I’m sure what tipped the scales was the 80lb bag carry that had to be done in pairs. CT and Dan are both more than capable of carrying 80 lbs that distance on their own, while Josh may not be and Nany probably also wouldn’t be. Especially after a weight-based puzzle, it would be hard to bank on Sarah and Kyle to do the heavy lifting and out-move CT, Dan, Mattie, and beneficiary Amanda.
Aside from the weight carry, I actually think it’d be pretty even. No wonder the score only differed by six votes here. I think Team Likability is probably the superior puzzle team, but Amanda is a very smart player and Dan and CT can hold their own on puzzles. Satan’s Asshole has a big brain after all, and as was destined, they eliminate Team Likability from the tournament. Nice guys really do finish last.
Congratulations to u/hkotila! You’re competing again today! And, to u/trebird1, this ends your time here on the MtvChallenge fantasy tournament. Take care of yourself.
Now, let’s get to voting. Today is the last double day of the tournament! You know the drill - this means we have two matchups from each bracket!
Real World Bracket
Match 1.0: u/BCastle18 vs. u/honestkodaline, u/priorsloth’s “Adore Delano 2020”
Final: The Inferno II
Teams
[u/BCastle18]
[u/honestkodaline, u/priorsloth] “Adore Delano 2020”
Winner’s Logic
[u/BCastle18]
  1. Landon in the night elimination against Luke and Ev literally dragged a almost unconscious Carley to a win and in the finals carried Carley up a mountain to get the win over 3 teams that on paper seemed stronger one of which included two top 10 challengers of all time in Kenny and Laurel with the weakest partner. Also did all of this while being respectful and supportive of his partner throughout showing he is very much a great team player.
  2. Only one team was in the main house all season on FR, it was Sylvia and Joss. They won the final endurance purge and won it rather comfortably. Showed that she can keep her composure in their elimination against John/Tony and many even believe that Sylvia and Joss were the rightful winners of FR, they also only lost by 40 seconds even while getting hit with two grenades.
[u/honestkodaline, u/priorsloth] “Adore Delano 2020”
  1. Other than strong competitors our teams biggest strength is that there is a clear alpha leader (Ev), and the other three are team players that will follow a strong competitor.
  2. EVELYN SMITH WON A SIMILAR FINAL, on Rivals 1! Not only did she win this final, but she did it with Paula. They beat Laurel and Cara Maria who would easily win anything you threw at them today. We know this wasn’t because Paula is a powerhouse, it was literally ALL on Ev. I don’t need to say much more because Ev is iconic, she won 3 seasons, and any true Challenge fan knows her résumé. Game, set, match bitch.
  3. Cohutta may not have a win yet, and he may be on the smaller side of the men, but he is brilliant. He makes the challenges work for him. During this season, Free Agents, he showed incredible agility being one of three people to make it across the rolling log during the first challenge. In the second daily he was partnered with Laurel, and of course they won, but neither could’ve done it without the other. On the third challenge he lead a team of Nany, Latoya and Preston across the bar crawl (sliding two bars under a wall suspended above water) when teams that had Jordan, CT, and Cara couldn’t even make it across! Free Agents was Cohutta’s best run and he finished in 6th place. This season showed us that Cohutta can work on a team with ANYONE and perform above average.
  4. Ashley Kelsey kickboxes. She solves puzzles. She stands up for Sam (well, halfheartedly, but she did at one point stand up for Sam, at least once, in her own way). She dated Dario, and we don't judge her for that. She won her first season. She lost her second season to Cara, but didn't she look cute while doing it?
  5. Ace Amerson invented the trash can punch. He hooked up with Tonya. He was on Team Good Guys on Inferno 3, because he is a good guy. In real life, he rides a lot of 4-wheelers and has a cute dog. He'll listen to Evelyn's orders. He'll be a supportive teammate and friend to all, except Derrick.
  6. Our team is a lean, mean machine - heavy on the lean. We run. We think critically (well, Evelyn does). We fight (well, Evelyn does). We get shit done... well, you get the point.
The Inferno II Final Description - thank you to the lovely u/stayoutofthe-forest for the details.
Match 2.0: u/ry-guy2fly’s “Team Backpack” vs. u/dolfan2354
Final: Cutthroat
Teams
[u/ry-guy2fly] “Team Backpack”
[u/dolfan2354]
Winner’s Logic
[u/ry-guy2fly] “Team Backpack”
  1. CT doesn’t need an introduction, but I’ll give my team captain one anyway. CT, who fashioned the iconic Banana Backpack, is the greatest competitor of all time. For my team, I plucked him from his greatest season of all time. If you name a skill that can be tested on this show, CT excels in that skill. Endurance, strength, skill, puzzles, eating, and everything in between. CT dominates.
  2. Aviv Melmod is the biggest reason Darrell is considered one of the best competitors in challenge history. Aviv is a puzzle queen with endurance to match it. Her puzzle skill and fire was the biggest factor in separating her and Darrell from their finals opponents on Fresh Meat. She’s a combination of Diem and Evelyn. Heart, passion, smarts, and fire. While she only competed in one season, she showed a plethora of Challenge knowhow. If she would have returned to the show, she’d be recognized as one of the all time greats.
  3. Brittini Sherrod is another one hit wonder like Aviv. Although she didn’t quite reach the heights of her female partner, she showed that she doesn’t have a real weakness. She never gives up and maintained a close race against Rachel on Duel 2. Brittini will never flounder under pressure and will continue to push through any and all obstacles.
  4. Mike Boise only competed on one season, but it was quick to see the relation between him and his brother Abram. Mike has GUTS! While he hated the house environment, Mike showed excellent know how. He’s an in shape guy who attacks any obstacle tactfully. Mike and CT are a great fit together, because no matter how hard CT pushes, Mike will respond. His all around knowledge and skill will prove useful in a final.
[u/dolfan2354]
  1. Derrick K- Arguably one of the best players in eliminations due to his tenacity. Always will compete has a never-say-quit attitude as evidenced multiple times. Is a multi time champion and has the cardio to crush any final. Is aware of shortcomings and is willing to sit back in puzzles and let those strong on his team due their thing. Is ready to crush any final!
  2. Veronica - Forgotten how dominant she was in her prime is a 3x champion who got better every season she was on. Won 4 life savers on the inferno. Has no glaring weakness is a strong female who is smart at puzzles and has the cardio to keep up with her team while also being able to mentally break her opponents!
  3. Amanda - Is a very loyal player and will compete as hard as she can in anything she does while also making sure her voice is heard. Arguably the best player in the lavender ladies. In invasion she showed how dominant she is at puzzles by solving her puzzle in minutes during the blood bath while other players were at it for an hour. Has the strength to pull her weight on any challenge. Has shown she is in great shape and has never shown signs that she would struggle with a final.
  4. Nehemiah - Is an all around player and is a 1x champion. Came into rivals shredded and in the best shape he has ever been in. Was carrying his team with an overweight Evan and proved that he is capable of running a final and competing to win. Has the body size to provide the muscle and really crush anything while also having a good mind when it comes to the tough aspect of using your brain.
Cutthroat Final Description
(Thank you to u/honestkodaline for this description!)
Road Rules Bracket
Match: u/scyth13r vs. u/phillyfly11’s “CJ’s Angels”
Final: Battle of the Bloodlines
Teams
[u/scyth13r]
[u/phillyfly11] “CJ’s Angels”
Winner’s Logic
[u/scyth13r]
  1. Frank Roessler Gauntlet III - The leader and backbone of his team. A smart physical competitor, the Veterans constantly targeted Frank. He prevailed in eliminations and his team took home a controversial W in the final.
  2. Luke Wolfe Cutthroat - Finishing ahead of the almighty Landon in elimination wasn't enough losing due to a puzzle in FM2, Luke carried his weight, and Abrams, and Sarah's, and Cara Maria's in the final of Cutthroat. Had the almighty Abe and Sarah been medically DQ'd sooner he would have won the final.
  3. Sylvia Elsrode Final Reckoning - Boasting a questionable 2nd place finish in a final, she did the thinking, the planning, and the puzzles for her team. She also tied Joss' shoes for him.
  4. Evelyn Smith Rivals - It’s Evelyn fucking Smith.
[u/phillyfly11] “CJ’s Angels”
  1. Emily Schromm, Rivals 2: In the wise words of the Godfather Mark Long, “She competes like a dude.” The most physically fit female competitor ,Emily dominated Rivals 2 with 6 daily wins en route to winning the season.
  2. Ashley Kelsey, Invasions: I chose this version of Ashley because she was in better physical shape and has running and winning a final experience and a great team player.
  3. CJ Koegel, Battle of the Seasons 2: Was the Leader of Team Cancun that won 2 dailies and was a part of the major alliance. He proved his ability to think on his feet and his physical strength by defeating Roided up Zach in his HALL BRAWL heat.
  4. Mike Boise, Bloodlines: One of the top performers the entire season, he proved that he wasn’t afraid of any task, asking multiple times to get thrown into elimination and that he has a killer mindset during competition."
Battle of the Bloodlines Final Description
Thanks to u/harsh-femme for this extraordinarily thorough rundown!
Match 2.0: u/dirtykilla36 vs. u/hkotila’s “Satan’s Asshole”
Final: The Gauntlet 2
Teams
[u/dirtykilla36]
[u/hkotila] “Satan’s Asshole”
Winner’s Logic
[u/dirtykilla36]
  1. First of all, my team Is comprised of all previous winners, so they’ve been there before and nerves won’t be an issue.
  2. Wes and Melinda were on the real world together and have a decent relationship that would Work to their advantage.
  3. My team has shown excellent mental and intestinal fortitude, so the eating portion wouldn’t serve as any type of problem.
  4. My team also consistently displays toughness, and mental superiority, so the final portion of walking on hot coals shouldn’t be any hindrance in winning the $$.
[u/hkotila] “Satan’s Asshole”
  1. CT: CHOO CHOO
  2. Dan: One of the top two performing males on this season which included Mark Long, Abe, The Miz, Derrick, and Brad... Also: https://medium.com/@shmalvey7/the-greatest-male-players-in-challenge-history-17-dan-setzler-75b8100f98a1
  3. Amanda: Solid at most aspects of the game, IMO probably the second-best puzzle solver to appear on the challenge.
  4. Mattie: Top 3 most physically imposing females to be cast behind Laurel and Late career Emily. A lot of shit has been talked on here about her stamina. Just remember, wherever you have Mattie ranked on endurance Georgia needs to be behind her. Plus she ran like 16-20 miles on a sand dune and was keeping pace with Cara during that time. Most finals don't even have a course even close to as brutal as that final meaning she will do fine on every other final
The Gauntlet II Final Description - Thanks to my post partner u/MandyMTV for writing this. Let’s have a moment of silence for our partnership, as it has now become a one-man operation because she mysteriously disappeared. (Side note, I heard from her on Saturday and she is alive and well.)
Which of these teams deserves to move on in our quest to discover The Challenge Fantasy Draft’s Biggest Loser? You decide.

Voting ends at 10 PM EST Monday, February 17.

2020.02.12 16:05 ND_PC The r/MtvChallenge Fantasy Tournament: Redemption House - Day 18 (Round Four)

It is now the fourth round of the redemption house! We really are just flying through this thing! This round features some seasoned losers, some brand new losers, and some first-time winners of the losers’ bracket (man that’s confusing). Unfortunately, being in the losers’ bracket means you have to work extra hard to prove how good you are. That’s why we have so many rounds. How exciting! Join us as losers continue to battle head-to-head to fight for redemption, coming back from embarrassing losses, terrifying finals, and (supposed) voter insanity. While you won’t enter back into the Winner’s Bracket, you may just find yourself the Ruler of Redemption.
Before we get to the voting, let’s recap last night’s fantasy draft match-ups.
Real World Bracket
Match 1.0
I can’t help but take responsibility for u/rileymarks1’s victory here. I wrote the player descriptions for u/Lalapalooza6252059 and really did a number on Bear, Nicole, and Mandi. I at least convinced myself to vote against that team, so I’m assuming I could have convinced at least one other person to vote similarly. And if I can affect just one voter’s decision, well then, it’ll all be worth it. I’ll have succeeded.
I am doubly happy about this result because Frank won! I am a proud fan of Frank, the good parts (competition) and the bad (drama) alike. I’m assuming everyone else looked past him, and figured that Mitch’s mind, Jenny’s athleticism and Morgan’s… well, okay, Mitch’s mind and Jenny’s athleticism would carry this team to a win. Mandi is probably legitimately the weakest of these eight players, which I think would make the biggest difference in any final. Whether you like it or not, Jordan = Frank in competition (basically okay guys I know Frank isn’t god or anything but he’s close enough to Jordan that it would be negligible), Mitch = Bear (see above, negligible differences), Jenny > Nicole Z (yes, I am confident in this), and Morgan seems > Mandi (even though we can’t judge a book by its cover but that’s a stupid rule because authors should want appealing covers that accurately depict the content of the book!). So this was probably as one-sided as the voters made it seem. Congrats to u/rileymarks1! And to u/Lalapalooza6252059, this ends your time here on the MtvChallenge fantasy tournament. Take care of yourself.
Match 2.0
So, who was the powerhouse here? Tyler? Fine, I guess. But doesn’t Chet’s awfulness kind of cancel out Mr. Duckworth? Also can we say for sure that Da’Vonne (whom I LOVE) would have the endurance to finish any final, ever? I mean, did you guys even watch her compete with Bear? Her lack of effort in the tire-staking daily forced Bear to officially quit and then she sort of played the victim. That says she either has poor endurance or is a poor teammate. Either way, her being on a team with Chet would not bode well based on that (admittedly small) sample size. Again, this comes from a place of love for Da’Vonne.
Maybe people focused way too much on the puzzles in this final and not enough on the sheer amount of endurance required to complete it? I don’t know. But still, Da’Vonne could not do this. I am almost positive. Does anyone have her on retainer? We could politely request that she run this final just to demonstrate her capabilities or lack thereof.
Then again, looking at the other team, I think neither Jodi nor Jill would be able to match Theresa. Theresa has great running form and proved as much on a treadmill during an elimination one time. She is a very strong female competitor. Buuut still. Ugh. Da’Vonne would not be able to keep up! I just can’t justify this win for u/harsh-femme, but congratulations! More people disagree with me than not, so you move on. u/cretetts, see you on the flippity flip.
Road Rules Bracket
Match 1.0
This final is super gimmicky. I’m surprised the vote was this lopsided, but Coral has a lot of name value and so does Evan. Dunbar has a reputation of being kind of a dope and Avery > Tonya. Nehemiah < Tyler, probably, but I think what it came down to in this one is which team was seen as a combination of smarter and more popular. Evan/Coral/Nehemiah/Avery take that title from TyleDunbaJodi/Tonya in both of those categories. Yep! That’s it. Short and sweet writeup for this match because I don’t see it being much more than that. Congrats to u/LotteryBoundPod, and to Team Pornos (aka u/joshyanks84), better luck next time.
Match 2.0
OOF guys, OOF! This one was too close for me to handle. In my headcanon, I can only imagine that after Team Likability crosses the finish line, they can see their opponents closely behind them, and they go back to cheer them to the finish. Seriously, if Kyle, Josh, Nany, and Sarah are the varsity team for likability, then Mitch, Pete, Rachel, and Jill are probably at least JV bench players if not getting a few varsity minutes here and there. The group celebration that would occur after this final would solidify these eight players as fan favorites. There would be zero hard feelings, and after all was said and done they would sign each other’s yearbooks, promise to write to each other everyday, and part ways with big smiles highlighting their beautiful faces. It would be a scene akin to Hallie and Annie leaving Camp Walden for girls at the end of the first act of the 1998 box office smash hit The Parent Trap. Who knows? Maybe they would play out the entire plot of the movie, switch places, live in England, phone each other from their hallway closet, reunite their parents on a dinner cruise and live happily ever after. I don’t know, I’ve never been to camp so I just assume that happens all the time. Anyway, even if none of that other stuff happens, I can totally see a finish line where the second-place finishers are just as happy as the victors. Even if I still don’t know that much about Jill Tuttle.
Congrats to u/trebird1! And to u/Upsidedown_Swan, thank you for playing. We’ll definitely see you in the future.
Now, let’s get to voting. Today is another DOUBLE DAY, so we will have TWO matchups from each bracket!
Real World Bracket
Match 1.0: u/BCastle18 vs. u/stayoutofthe-forest, u/dereleek’s “Team Dutch Australians”
Final: Vendettas
Teams
[u/BCastle18]
[u/stayoutofthe-forest, u/dereleek07] "Team Dutch Australians"
Winner’s Logic
[u/BCastle18]
  1. Landon in the night elimination against Luke and Ev literally dragged a almost unconscious Carley to a win and in the finals carried Carley up a mountain to get the win over 3 teams that on paper seemed stronger one of which included two top 10 challengers of all time in Kenny and Laurel with the weakest partner. Showed that she can keep her composure in their elimination against John/Tony and many even believe that Sylvia and Joss were the rightful winners of FR, they also only lost by 40 seconds even while getting hit with two grenades.
[u/stayoutofthe-forest, u/dereleek07] "Team Dutch Australians"
  1. Jamie Chung- Inferno 2: Throughout the season, Jamie was able to prove herself over and over again. In a final where there was multiple facets with swimming, biking, running, and a mental challenge she was able to hold her own with some of the greatest challengers in the history of the show. She showed an ability to be an excellent team player amongst big personalities (which will probably come in handy on this team) and won’t let her ego get in the way of the goal of winning a final. You know what you’re getting from her and will do everything in her power to not be the weak link on the team.
  2. Laurel Stuckey- Free Agents: Laurel is without a doubt one of the most dominating, well rounded competitors we’ve seen on this show. This season in particular was easily her best overall performance from start to finish. At this point in her Challenge career, she has reached the final in every season she's been on and has an 8-0 elimination record. In a final that had stages in both individual and team format, Laurel was a clear favourite and would have won by an even greater margin if not for being the unlucky girl paired with Zach during his infamous dying moment on the mountains. In any finals format, this version of Laurel is going to be a physical and mental asset and will be just the leader this team needs.
  3. Leroy Garrett- War of the Worlds II: Leroy has come so close to Challenge glory many times, and this may be his chance to finally get a win in some form. War of the Worlds 2 Leroy showed off his best assets and how well a team final suits him. Leroy is strong, has endless gas in the tank, is an amazing team player with so much heart, and constantly works to improve his weak points. His swimming has never been better than it is now (he avoided being purged on a swimming challenge and has held his own on other water related challenges), and he has shown improvement in his puzzle skills by completing his math puzzle ahead of Ashley in the most recent final. With a team like this who is willing to put it all aside for the win, there's no doubt Leroy can truly thrive in whatever challenge is thrown at him.
  4. Luke Wolfe- Cutthroat: Luke is a bit of a wildcard, but he can't be underestimated with his 3-1 elimination record (against the likes of Wes, Paula, and Big Easy) and his easygoing attitude. In Cutthroat, Luke proved himself throughout the whole season- he was always a solid player on his team who never did the worst in a daily challenge, worked well with everyone, and always wanted what was best for the team. In a final where 40% of his team was taken out for medical reasons, Luke kept pushing forward, even through team leader Abram being taken out. A solid player who never quits, always turns out a quality performance, and works well with big personalities is exactly what this team needs. Luke is the glue that holds a team together.
Vendettas Final Description
Match 2.0: u/PejicFilip’s “Team Swift or Bust” vs. u/honestkodaline, u/priorsloth’s “Adore Delano 2020”
Final: The Gauntlet III
Teams
[u/PejicFilip] “Team Swift or Bust”
[u/honestkodaline, u/priorsloth] “Adore Delano 2020”
Winner’s Logic
[u/PejicFilip] “Team Swift or Bust”
  1. I have 3 competitors on my team that have competed on more modern seasons of the challenge compared to my opponents 2. Kina is underrated and literally had a post a couple days ago how underrated she is. Abe is a good leader and all around good competitor. Swift is fit and can run and Holly Shand is one of the top 25 best competitors.
[u/honestkodaline, u/priorsloth] “Adore Delano 2020”

[u/Gelado99]
  1. Abe (Inferno 3) - all around great player with no glaring flaw. His best attribute is without a doubt his leadership, he knows the right way to motivate his teammates, whether it be by being supportive like he did with Cara on Cutthroat or by constantly shouting to his brother to the point of rupturing a nasal vein on Bloodlines, either way he'll get the best out of everyone on the team. Chose Inferno 3 because it was probably his physical peak... And obviously he's crazy so that helps, I guess.
  2. Diem (Exes) - best Diem season by far, she only lost because CT gassed out on the glacier. Picked her because she was great on the puzzles, had an insane amount of cardio and will power on that final, and because she was a really positive and a good teammate.
  3. Rogan (WotW2) - well let's state the obvious and say he's an asshole, BUUUUTTT he also proved to be a great finals competitor, carried his load was great on the eating portion and showed great cardio as well. And also my team was lacking a powerhouse and he fit the role.
  4. Melissa (Vendettas) - picked her because she's feisty, doesn't quit, had decent cardio and for a reality show team I needed at least someone to bring the entertainment. So DJ Mel Reeves was the obvious choice
  5. TL/DR: Abe - leadership, Diem - puzzles, Rogan - strength, Melissa - entertainment, they complement each other.

Match 2.0: u/phillyfly11’s “CJ’s Angels” vs. u/Switchstop’s “Mr. Beautiful and the Drowners”
Final: Dirty XXX
Teams
[u/phillyfly11] “CJ’s Angels”
[u/Switchstop] “Mr. Beautiful and the Drowners”
Winner’s Logic
[u/Switchstop] “Mr. Beautiful and the Drowners”
  1. Self proclaimed ""Mr. Beautiful"", Kenny Santucci has planted himself as one of the all time greats of Challenge history. With 3 wins (technically 4 including The Gauntlet 3) and 7 finals under his belt, there is only 1 season that he did not make it to a final. That season, The Duel, had one of the most challenging and star-studded casts in Challenge history. Kenny has won a total of 35 dailies across 8 seasons, won 5 out of 6 eliminations, and amassed a total of $235,970. One of the greatest puzzlers of all time, the unending endurance through multiple finals and strengths all across the board shows that this man has what it takes. Also literally carried the GOAT Wes through Rivals.
  2. Leroy is a bit of surprising pick I'm sure. Looking at his overall stats, out of 11 appearances, he's only made the final 4 times, and has 0 wins. The unfortunate truth is that Leroy has the absolute worst luck when it comes to partners. On the plus side, this is coming after the PRIME Leroy that I chose. In Battle of the Exes 2, Leroy was in peak performance mode. They may have only won 1 daily, but after going into eliminations 4 times, he and Nia got the job done. Going against some of the greats, they took down Johnny Reilly and Avery, Wes and Theresa, and Bananas and Nany. Then after being paired with Theresa, they finished off Bananas and Nany AGAIN to stop them from making the final. As one of the only players to ever compete and win 4 eliminations in a single season, Leroy can hold it down as much as anyone.
  3. While my two previous competitors should be household names, we'll flip the switch by introducing a fresh face with only 2 seasons under her belt. Natalie ""Ninja"" Duran is a small yet feisty ball of competition. During War of the Worlds 1, Natalie managed to pull off 4 daily wins, an elimination win, and managed to be the only female left standing by the end of the final. She bested the strong Mattie, the durable Georgia, and the all time great Cara Maria during the final 2 day ""Death Path"" which is regarded as the hardest final in challenge history. Whether it's strength, endurance, puzzling, or running a ropes course, she's shown she's more than capable to provide what it takes to make this team compete.
  4. The oft-forgot Sam McGin completes the team. Sam has made only 1 appearance on The Challenge, during Battle of the Seasons II. During this season, her and her San Diego co -competitors managed to slide their way into a final, and an eventual win. Winning 4 dailies, and pulling off 2 elimination wins, Sam definitely held her own. The unfortunate side of things is how poorly she was treated on this season. Throughout the entire season, Sam was berated and belittled by Zach and Frank every chance they got. Everyone knows that there is no use in putting people down when running a competition, so I have no doubt that this team here will have nothing but support for Sam. Give her what she needs to run these finals and make another run. One of the forgotten "One and Done" competitors of The Challenge decides to give this one more go.

2020.02.11 05:38 ND_PC The r/MtvChallenge Fantasy Tournament: Redemption House - Day 17 (Round Three)

It’s the third round of the MtvChallenge redemption house, losers! This round will last two days only, and is a way of separating the above average from the mediocre. In other words, all teams entering this round have losers’ bracket experience, so hopefully, all teams have been hardened to the point of competing with reckless abandon. While the official Fantasy League™ teams don’t know the misery of suffering, the teams here have the stench of defeat trailing them everywhere they go. How exciting! Join us as losers continue to battle head-to-head to fight for redemption, coming back from embarrassing losses, terrifying finals, and (supposed) voter insanity. While you won’t enter back into the Winner’s Bracket, you may just find yourself the Ruler of Redemption.
Before we get to the voting, let’s recap last night’s match-ups.
Real World Bracket
Match 1.0
Well, u/mthompson22599, the voting public finally gave you what you deserved for picking both Tonya and Kenny. Your apologies couldn’t possibly defeat Leroy, Luke, Laurel, and Jaime in a grueling Rivals II Final. Honestly, Team Dutch Australians took this one because of Laurel. It’s okay, I’m not afraid to say what everyone else is too scared to say: Laurel is an unstoppable freak. She would have no issue shoving her teammates through the hard parts of this final and pushing them to help her solve the puzzles and basically bullying her way to a win. Laurel is the robot princess I don't deserve. One day I will build myself a robot and marry it, and its name will be Laurel, and it will have the same personality as Laurel Stucky - cold, detached, and somehow still capable of launching into a maniacal frenzy at the drop of a hat. But until that day, I’ll have to settle for watching Laurel feast on the minds, hearts, souls, and flesh of friend and foe alike. This imaginary final is no exception, as she is clearly the difference-maker in this final that involves endurance, puzzles, and digging (fun!). Congratulations to u/stayoutofthe-forest and u/dereleek07!
Match 2.0
Tangrams, Sudoku, Patterns, and more Sudoku spell doom for a team of Joss, Cooke, Nia, and Ty. Can you please have a moment of table-rage for Nia on my behalf? I’m being completely serious, I’m a huge Nia fan and hate to see her lose anything, ever. (I’m not a Nia defender, though… that would be something else entirely.)
But really, I cannot imagine that Joss, Nia, and Ty would successfully complete one puzzle, let alone four, to win a final. Joss doesn’t know how to strategize, so puzzles are definitely a no-no from him. Nia probably couldn’t keep her cool long enough to do a puzzle. Ty… well, on second thought, maybe he could successfully complete a tangram or patterns-based puzzle. Cooke would have to carry the team, and I don’t think she would be up to the task.
Team Adore Delano 2020 would have no such issue. Evelyn and Ashley would use their profound contemplative nature and keen insight to big-brain their way through the two sudoku puzzles, while Ace and Cohutta would use their superior charm and unmatched intellect to speed through Tangrams and the pattern-based puzzle.
In all seriousness, Adore Delano 2020 is probably the physically stronger team (though deceptively so!), and that would make a real difference in these tasks - especially the log-moving puzzle. They would maintain composure and have good teamwork throughout the final, and they would easily claim the victory. Congrats to u/honestkodaline and u/priorsloth!
Road Rules Bracket
Match 1.0
The Challenge godfather Mark Long has finally been eliminated from the Road Rules bracket, and who else to vanquish him than a team consisting of a psycho, a sweetheart, a sleezeball, and another psycho. Those players are, in no order, Abram, Diem, Rogan, and Melissa Reeves. Actually, that’s the real order. Abram is a psycho, Diem a sweetheart, Rogan a sleezeball, and Mel is another psycho.
The final starts with an eating challenge. Mark Long and his team of misfits are okay at this, but Rogan clears the table faster than he’s done anything in his life, except getting matching tattoos with Joss. He takes one for the team by eating even what his teammates cannot. (As he has many times before, he proves himself to be a sweetheart after all.) On the following army crawl, Melissa gets flashbacks to the mud from her epic elimination battle with Sylvia. She starts rolling in the mud uncontrollably and motivates her team to go faster and collect the artifact. She is so amped up from the visceral memories of kneeing Sylvia repeatedly for the sake of a ball that she carries the artifact all by herself to the next checkpoint. Later, on the balance beam obstacle course and the number-block puzzle, Diem and Abram team up to distract the other team so they are penalized as much as possible. Although they don’t quite get worked up to the point of nosebleeds, they succeed in a masterful display of teamwork. This team slightly ekes out Mark Long and co. Congratulations u/Gelado99! Better luck next time, u/thatstats969
Match 2.0
Okay, u/Switchstop is no longer the self-proclaimed “luckiest team in the tournament,” he’s also me-proclaimed that. That makes it semi-official, at least. Not only did this team experience a swimming-light final, but they also only barely won their matchup! And against a team of contestants all from the same season, too! Agh. Sorry, u/MattyRobsDW, this ends your time on the Challenge fantasy tournament. Take care of yourself, we’ll definitely be seeing you again. You had one of my favorite teams to root for, and I’m sorry to see you go.
But why did this happen? Why did this team of rookies only go 2-2 in finals? How could that possibly be? Well, as we all know, the Inferno final has to do with the seven deadly sins, and it seems like this team has a lot of repenting to do. The lust that Georgia and Bear had on their rookie season would certainly hold them back. The wrath that Morgan had after so many people misspelled her last name on the MtvChallenge fantasy tournament writeups would prove to be her downfall. Bear’s gluttony after being rejected by Georgia (ugh, if only Georgia was the player in that relationship) would incapacitate him to the point of being unable to run the final. Theo’s envy of the other Olympic athletes that wound up more athletically successful than him would eat away at him all throughout the final. The collective greed of these rookies would expose them as a team of pretenders rather than contenders, and their pride would compel them to continue to compete in spite of their shortcomings. In the end, their sloth (well, not Theo) would get the better of them, and they would roll over and submit to the cold grasp of defeat. Congrats to u/Switchstop, and better luck next year u/MattyRobsDW!
Now, let’s get to voting. Today is another DOUBLE DAY, so we will have TWO matchups from each bracket!
Real World Bracket
Match 1.0: u/rileymarks1 vs. u/Lalapalooza6252059
Final: The Duel
Teams
[u/rileymarks1]
[u/Lalapalooza6252059]
Winner’s Logic - neither team provided logic, so I will do so. These will probably end up being super subjective because Stolen by Dashboard Confessional just came on my shuffle so I’m working through this kind of quickly so I can go eat my feelings and perhaps also cry.
[u/rileymarks1]
  1. You know my feelings on Frank Sweeney. I love him. Yes, earlier I said I’m a Nia fan and now I’m reiterating my fandom for Frank Sweeney. This tells you the type of viewer I am. I also was rooting for Cersei Lannister or the White Walkers to win the Game of Thrones. I like bad and vile characters, so sue me. But anyway, Frank is great because of how bad he is, and also because he has the physical ability to back it up.
  2. Jenny West is a FAKE PERSON, PHYSICALLY. But she’s a blast to cheer for and I can’t wait to see her on another season. She’s super strong and she was probably the rookie of the year, competition-wise (Sorry, Idris). She’s not the brightest light in the big city but she’s definitely capable of winning dailies and probably has the endurance and physical strength to run a final pretty well.
  3. Mitch was pretty relatable as a competitor. I wanted to be his friend. He is Cory’s cousin and idolizes Cory for no reason. But don’t we all have similarly-aged idols at all stages of life before we outgrow them as idols and realize what a terrible mistake we made? Yes, we do. Like actually. I took an adolescent psychology class and this is what it taught me. So Cory was Mitch’s version of that, who cares? It doesn’t change the fact that Mitch was a pretty good competitor with a knack for puzzles and would be a good teammate.
  4. Morgan Willett. No! You know what? I know nothing about this girl. I remember her glomming onto Bananas, which was a storyline I was tired of before it started. She seemed fit, but I really didn’t notice how well she did on challenges. She was the victim of a fellow rookie changing his vote so she would go into elimination with big bad Bananas, and now she hangs out on Bananas’s Instagram story from time to time. I’m pretty sure they went on a months-long vacation after their premature elimination on War of the Worlds. She seemed fit. Make whatever judgment you will on that.
[u/Lalapalooza6252059]
  1. Jordan Wisely went from Sarah Rice some years ago to Tori Deal now. His chill:pull ratio is not 5:5, however, because he is seriously lacking in the chill department. He is one of the cockiest competitors to ever grace the show with his presence. He is a seriously talented dude, and he is a great narrator. He has awful facial hair and questionable style, but his fiancee and he are dedicated to growing together, so who knows how long either of those things will last? Dude is magnificent at representing the differently-abled community as he consistently defeats people in two-handed activities with only one hand.
  2. Stephen Bear is a lunatic! He is awful! His haircut in War of the Worlds 2 walked the fine line between hot and awful, and I think it landed on awful. But aside from being physically repulsive, he is always screaming and messing things up just for the heck of it. He brings completely manufactured entertainment to the show, like a personified version of the stunt that Bananas pulled with his sister and the notes. He is a decent competitor but he’s known for having a ton of followers and taking one round (of three) off Joss in a modified hall brawl. He eliminated Wes, sure. So bake him a cake or something. He’s not worthy of much more.
  3. Nicole Zanatta needs some serious speech pathology work. Her accent isn’t the worst thing about her voice. Her voice’s quality, pitch, rate, fluency, articulation, and tone all combine to make one of the most annoying noises we’ve ever had the displeasure of hearing on a show. She brings out the bi in a lot of women (which is awesome of MTV to show even if she doesn’t necessarily do it with the intention of being inclusive) but she pulls above her weight way too often. How! How. Literally how? If I had a fraction of her confidence in my dating life maybe I could get a date. Competition-wise, she’s easily in the Top 20% of women to ever compete on the show. But she was defeated by a hole in the ground, so she might not do well if the final includes running, as most do.
  4. Mandi Moyer has the appearance of a high school girl who wants to look really good for homecoming - fake tan, bleach blonde straightened hair, giant exposed forehead. This may only be because I grew up in New Jersey, but it seemed like there were plenty of girls trying to look older than they are at an event where literally nobody would be older than them. This is Mandi Moyer. She looks like Jennifer Anniston had a child with Jamie Lynn Spears and it got a so-so mix of genes. Yep! This is all I can remember about her. Please let this excellent description inform your decision.
The Duel Final Description - thanks to u/oxman88 for the description!
Match 2.0: u/cretetts vs. u/harsh-femme’s “Team Harsh Heauxs”
Final: Free Agents
Teams
[u/cretetts]
[u/harsh-femme] “Team Harsh Heauxs”
Winner’s Logic
[u/cretetts]
  1. Jodi - Jodi has been the “last woman standing” multiple times in her career. She started off her career by being the only woman to make the final of her road rules season and was the first female individual champion on “The Duel”. Jodi, a two time champion, has proven to be good in just about every challenge that she has completed in. Winning 9/15 challenges with the Rookies over the veterans or by winning 7/15 individual challenges in the Duel, a record for most individual or duo challenge wins in a season. Even in her “worst” season she was seen as easily the best girl on the cast. So much so that when the good guys switched to put her into elimination against Veronica, The Bad Asses were enraged and claimed they weren’t playing fair. She came back and was again the top female competitor and was seen as indispensible by her team. Among her many talents she excels in water based competition, blowing away her competition in “Rafty Race” and securing her spot in the final with beating even the men in “Paddle me.” Her pure physicality matches strength with speed and endurance (as seen in challenges like “Roller Derby” and “Ice breakers”. Jodi was so good on “The Duel” that she was practically the winner as soon as they announced the woman in the sand would be the one choosing her opponent, no woman felt they could stand a chance against her. She is truly in a class of her own amongst female competitors and consistently competes on a same level as even the top men.
  2. Jillian - Who would win in an endurance challenge that is just as difficult as a final? Darrell a previously undefeated endurance machine who is the reigning winner of Fresh Meat and a future 2 time champ or THE Jillian Zoboroski and a one and done rookie? Jillian is the little engine that could, going 5-1 for eliminations in her career (two on which came in the grueling exiles of Canada). Jillian could be a two time champion if not for Kina choosing to save her friend Ibis, by choosing Jillian who the team regarded as the stronger female competitor. She has shown she has grit and tenacity by winning a grueling “Turn Style” match that involved Landon and two much larger women and then beating a completely rested Wes and CJ shortly after. All three of her elimination wins on the Gauntlet two were also very psychical challenges that she who despite her size disadvantage. She is also very adept at puzzles which gave her the edge she need to win in exile. Jillian can be both a leader and a follower making her a very well rounded team player.
  3. Eric N - The man with the skipping rope. This endurance freak and fitness model was one of the first real athletes on the show. He appeared in many workout videos and fitness promotions where “As each workout video progressed, while the other participants remained fully clothed, Nies invariably removed layers of clothing until bare chested” because the is what the people wanted. Nies is a two time challenge champion (and one time host). He was one on three male winners on Battle of the Sexes 2 that consisted of one of the toughest male casts of all time. Eric was consistently one of the top males on the team and in a season where you could be voted out for not performing he was never in the conversation due to his consistency and sportsmanship. Eric and Dan went 6-0 as team leaders in challenges, ahead of great competitors like Theo Von (4-2), Mark Long (3-2) and Brad (4-1). He is the everything man with his top strength being endurance and cardio.
  4. Colin - Rounding out the team is arguably the best one and done competitor of all time in Colin Mortensen. He and Mark were far and away the top competitors for the dominant men’s team finishing 32 points ahead of the third place man (Jamie Murray 3x champ). I dug further into these numbers to filter for the top competitors on both teams (Getting in the top 2 for points in a mission). Out of 15 missions Colin was the top competitor 6 times, the only men to match that were Eric Nies and Antoine (was also was dead last for the men 3 times). Colin was the overall points leader for 9 of the 15 episodes with the next closest being Mark at 5. Of the 4 partner challenges, Colin was paired with a different partner every time and was part of the top pairs 4/4 times, showing his ability to work well with any partners. In the final Colin is the MVP for the men, he is a consistent positive voice and leader, saves the men in the puzzle section and is the fastest swimmer to the finish line.
[u/harsh-femme] “Team Harsh Heauxs”
  1. Tyler Duckworth Fresh off his first win in Cutthroat, Tyler is back and better than ever. On Rivals, Tyler - along with partner Bananas - won 3 daily challenges: Hammock Crawl, Against the Current and Sawed Off, demonstrating Duckworth’s strength, endurance, and ability to work in a team.
  2. Theresa Gonzalez In her 6th season on the show, Theresa was hungry for the win. She showed up with her original partner (Wes) and showed out, winning 3 challenges in the first 6 weeks: I Got You Babe, Open Arms and Don’t Forget About Me. She proved that she was strong, smart and brilliant swimmer. When she got eliminated right before the final, it was tough on her but she was able to come back a week later to replace Nia as Leroy’s ex… and she killed it, showing us all that she is a brilliant team member
  3. Da’Vonne Rogers Following a tough rookie season partnered with Jozea on Final Reckoning, Da’Vonne is back to prove that she’s a competitor. After winning the very first challenge, Impending Dune, Da’Vonne is picked by Bear as a partner and shows that no matter who she is partnered with, she’s ready to compete and can set aside differences to work together. As Bear’s partner, she won the Eye in the Sky challenge and defeated 2 teams on the killing floor: Leroy/Shaleen & Jenna/Gus. In WotW1, Da’Vonne proved that she had communication skills, patience, endurance and a hell of a lot of heart.
  4. Chet Cannon When you think of the Challenge Greats, Chet isn’t gonna be one of the guys that comes to mind initially, but he’s got a lot going for him that makes him an excellent team member! On BotS2, Chet competed with Sarah, JD, and Devyn as Team Brooklyn and managed to make it all the way to the final, winning 2 daily challenges along the way: Logged Out and Hunger Games. He and Sarah also managed to eliminate two teams (Brandon/Cara Maria and Mckenzie/Preston). He’s smart, politically savvy and works well with a team, making him a great addition to the team.

Final: The Gauntlet III
Teams
[u/LotteryBoundPod]
[u/joshyanks84] “Team Pornos”
Winner’s Logic
[u/LotteryBoundPod]
  1. Evan - at his peak an indomitable force, one who balanced politics and athleticism flawlessly; at his worst, chubby.
  2. Coral - an OG, one who has never lost an elimination. Even though her she dominated through politics, physically she was never one to back down.
  3. Nehemiah - at his worst he worst he had a showmance with Beth, otherwise he was Wes’ closest ally and a physically apt competitor. He beat Kenny although he then Lost to Big Easy in I can which essentially should negate the elimination in its totality. He went on to win his next season. Rivals 2 he was apart of the old boy 3 person team: himself, Evan, and mini Evan
  4. Avery - the only one not to have won on this team, her tenure is also the most ephemeral. I tried to see how well that hooking up dome elimination went and was curious if Johnny lost it for them or if Avery did, IDK. She’s stunning, charismatic, and has fire.
  5. That’s the dream team.
[u/joshyanks84] “Team Pornos”

    6. Weaknesses: Puzzles Strengths: Everything else
  2. Tyler Duckworth – Rivals

    4. Kept pace well with a prime Bananas while sick in the final
    5. One of four men to win back-to-back seasons
    6. Tufts University Graduate
    7. Survived a “Choo-Choo” from CT

  4. Dunbar Merrill – Cutthroat
    1. Won Cutthroat
    2. First overall chosen male

The Gauntlet III Final Description - Written pre-tournament by my partner in crime, u/MandyMTV
Match 2.0: u/trebird1’s “Team Likability” vs. u/Upsidedown_Swan
Final: Invasion of the Champions
Teams
[u/trebird1] “Team Likability”
[u/Upsidedown_Swan]
Winner’s Logic
[u/trebird1] “Team Likablity”
  1. Josh Martinez - although not the strongest male competitor will always give it his all and support his partners
  2. Kyle Christie - made a final in his rookie season beating the purge and a strong competitor like Tony and Leroy strong social game will do well in most finals I think
  3. Nany Gonzales - almost made the War of the Worlds 2 getting beaten by Smashley in the last elim before the final she was one of the 3 us members I actually was rooting for Leroy Kam and Nany I want her to win one final
  4. Sarah Rice - from what I’ve seen of Sarah 2 episodes of Rivals 3 and the money steal seems like she’s strategically sound and cutthroat will do anything to win I want to win another final with likeable teammates whose name isn’t Bananas.
[u/Upsidedown_Swan] - again, I will be providing logic because this user did not. At this point I have moved on from Dashboard Confessional and am blasting Lorde (my favorite artist) so I’m just gonna ride the waves here and do these pretty recklessly.
  1. MITCH! I already wrote about Mitch today! He is a puzzle dude who seemed like a normal person but had questionable taste in people. By that I mean he hooked up with Aneesa’s cousin and idolized his own cousin, Cory. To pull a quote from democratic candidate Amy Klobuchar, “Who does that?!” He is fine competitively, and a good teammate, but not the strongest dude out there so I have no reason to believe he would fare better than Kyle or Josh. He’s probably less emotional than Josh though. He’s good at drinking fake beer in finals.
  2. Pete Connolly made the final of his only season - Fresh Meat II. Yo, what gives, dude? Why didn’t you come back? Did you realize that you just made it onto a show with a recurring cast? Seriously, Pete was a good competitor (especially given the fact that his veteran partner was Jill Zoboroski LOL), and he more than held his own on his one season of the show. He’s only 32 years old, which is a similar age to Cara Maria and Zach, but I couldn’t imagine him ever being on a season again.
  3. Rachel Robinson was dope! She was on the first ever same-sex battle of the exes team with Aneesa! She also dated Veronica. While all of this was going on, she won two seasons and made a third final. She is probably in the Top 10 women of all time athletically - seriously! She’s really good at finals and she was really good at dailies as well.
  4. Jill Tuttle is Cohutta’s cousin. She is like the female Cohutta, but not as charming, and not as knowledgeable about the game they were playing. She also has a worse political game than Cohutta and isn’t as physically proficient. She has been on two total episodes of The Challenge. That makes her worse than Jozea, LaToya, and only slightly better than Alan Valdez. Do you even know who Alan is?! Exactly! Why would u/Upsidedown_Swan even pick Jill? Does this person know something we don’t? Is this person Jill in disguise?

2020.02.10 06:41 MandyMTV u/MtvChallenge Fantasy Tournament: Redemption House - Day One (Round Three)

It’s the third round of the MtvChallenge redemption house, losers! This round will last two days only, and is a way of separating the above average from the mediocre. In other words, all teams entering this round have losers’ bracket experience, so hopefully all teams have been hardened to the point of competing with reckless abandon.
Before we get to the voting, let’s recap last night’s fantasy draft match-ups, written by the stunningly gorgeous, extremely hilarious, scarily intelligent, and totally humble u/MandyMTV.
Real World Bracket
u/PapaJon123’s team of Joss Mooney, Heather Cooke, Hurricane Nia, and Ty “Emily’s Bitch” Ruff win this round. This was surprising, given that Turbo is not only an incredible physical specimen, but he’s also a movie star, and that would come in handy in any Challenge final. Also, as Bananas once noted, Nany is a goddamn molotov cocktail thrown in the house and she’s gonna light that place on fire.
But, I guess our voters believe that a Joss, Mr. Bromance Extraordinaire, is better than a man who can’t put all of his eggs in one basket, will throw a cup in your face if you decide to make your little fucking stupid ass jokes, Jordan, thinks vagina is the most powerful thing ever created, and whose father is a pastor. Okay, sure.
I also see that our friends here at u/MTVChallenge believe a hurricane is better than a grenade. I’ll buy that. Nia will beat your fucking ass, scrubs. But y’all really think that Heather Cooke is better than Nicole Ramos? Nicole works at a strip club, but no - she doesn’t dance. She’s a bartender. She’ll vote her sister into elimination because she’s a sarcastic asshole, and she doesn’t kiss prison guards - that’s your man, Ashley, not hers. You think her lashes and makeup will slow her down? Her eyelashes won’t blow away. She’s got that good glue.
Worst of all, y’all scrambled-eggs-for-brains voters think that little bitch boy Ty would do better than a Challenge champion. Okay. I see how it is.
Eat a bag of dicks, voters. Let Nicole eat her Cheetos and be happy. Thank you.
[But, for real, congratulations, u/PapaJob123! Your combination of girls is absolutely fire - Nia and Cooke? That’s terrifying. How you got both of those girls, I will never know, but I am super jealous.]
Road Rules Bracket
u/MattyRobsDW wins over u/survivorfan123456 and there is only one reason this happens: Chet Cannon was just not meant to be on a team titled ‘The Dirtiest Players of All Time.’ That man straight up quit The Challenge because he was worried about a cut on his face. That man ain’t a dirty player, y’all. He’s a tool.
It seems like even KellyAnne’s multiple [racist] personalities couldn’t save this team. KellyAnne tries to breathe through this final, but she starts to get worried because it hurts. It really hurts. It’s just nasty stuff blocking her airway. [Hint: it’s Chet’s hairspray. Save the turtles!] Luckily, she looks good without makeup and with wet hair, so fuck Anessa.
Sidenote: KellyAnne did not fuck Dunbar. It’s unfortunate that he’s crazy, but they never had intercourse in any way. She fucks who she wants to fuck, okay?
And that is that on that, my friends. Congratulations, u/MattyRobsDW! I will save my roast of your players for another round.
Now, let’s get to voting. Today is a DOUBLE DAY, so we will have TWO matchups from each bracket!
Real World Bracket
Match 1.0: u/stayoutofthe-forest, u/dereleek07’s “Team Dutch Australians” vs. u/mthompson22599’s “I’m Sorry I Picked Both Tonya and Kenny”
Final: Rivals II
Teams
[u/stayoutofthe-forest, u/dereleek07] "Team Dutch Australians"
[u/mthompson22599] “I’m Sorry I Picked Both Tonya and Kenny”
Winner’s Logic
[u/mthompson22599] “I’m Sorry I Picked Both Tonya and Kenny”
Rivals II Final Description - thanks to the wonderful u/mthompson22599 for the details!
Just like the first Rivals Season, the format was three male/male teams and three female/female teams. It was split into two parts, Dream Island and Nightmare Island.
Match 2.0: u/honestkodaline, u/priorsloth’s “Adore Delano 2020” vs. u/PapaJon123
Final: Fresh Meat II
Teams
[u/honestkodaline, u/priorsloth] “Adore Delano 2020”
[u/PapaJon123]
Winner’s Logic
[u/PapaJon123]
  1. Joss is a physical specimen. from lifting, running, swimming Joss can do it all. After Final Reckoning, Joss had a 2-1 record in elimination with his only loss being to an elimination king Derrick K. Also to note, the elimination he competed in was straight brutal. Joss also completed the Vendettas opening competition in first place.
  2. Cooke: Though Cooke only competed in one season she finished second and gave many fans wanting more from her. Cooke carried Cara through most of the season as well as the final. If it wasn't for the beast Emily she could have won it for the girls. Also she was a collegiate soccer player so the athleticism on her is no joke. The only daily she won was also a puzzle/memorization so her puzzle skills are on par if not above average.
  3. Nia Moore: Hurricane Nia what can I say, she has one trait I love for finals heart. Heart can push individuals to potential themselves never thought of. Nia showed when she was eliminated by Cara in Free Agents. When she came back for Exes2 she proved herself winning eliminations against Nany/Bananas and Wes/Theresa. Nia will be able to lean on Joss and Cooke pushing her with positive attitude to push her body to the limit.
Fresh Meat II Final Description - thanks to u/stayoutofthe-forest for making this description come true!
Road Rules Bracket
Match 1.0: u/thatstats969’s “Good Guys + OG Devil” vs. u/Gelado99
Final: The Ruins
Teams
[u/thatstats969] "Good Guys + OG Devil
[u/Gelado99]
Winner’s Logic
[u/thatstats969's "Good Guys + OG Devil]
  1. Mark Long (Duel II): Mark came in after taking a hiatus from the challenge and performed well. He came in third place in the final after Evan and Brad. However, it should be noted he was not that far behind until the guys had to wait for the girls. Mark also performed well in the dailies. At the end of the day, Mark is a leader and a champion.
  2. Eric Nies (Battle of the Sexes II): Eric outperformed many other guys in this season where they dominated the competition. He also went into 6 of the inner circles and won every challenge he was put in. He was also never eliminated by the inner circle, proving his strengths. He went on to win the final. Eric is a great team player and can communicate well.
  3. Jillian Zoboroski (Gauntlet III): On an underperforming rookie team, Jillian stood out for her resilience on this season. She went into 3 gauntlets and came back from each (although it should be noted her opponents weren't that strong). She was willing to step up into a leadership role when needed. She also went on to win this final because of a mishap on the veteran's side.
  4. Julie Stoffer Inferno I: Julie performed well being on a Real World team that was being decimated by the Road Rules team. She was a strong voice in a team full of hotheads.
The Ruins Final Description - Thanks to u/stayoutofthe-forest for this summary!
Match 2.0: u/Switchstop’s “Mr. Beautiful and the Drowners” vs. u/MattyRobsDW
Final: The Inferno
Teams
[u/Switchstop] “Mr. Beautiful and the Drowners”
[u/MattyRobsDW]
Winner’s Logic
[u/MattyRobsDW]
  1. Theo Campbell: With a strong second place finish his rookie season in a grueling WOTW 1 final, Theo Campbell is nothing short of what we want to see when it comes to athleticism on The Challenge. This is the man to lead my team through the final as long as he’s got the right teammates to utilize.
  2. Georgia Harrison: Has always worked well with Theo and Bear, so chemistry needs to be taken into account imo. Has proven in the past two seasons she is one of the toughest contestants on the show. Made a final in WOTW 1 her rookie season. Won 3-4 eliminations.
  3. Bear: Wild card. Has proven to be a tough competitor in elimination. Does work well with Theo and Georgia. If he spends less time focused on women he might make it farther in the game. But this scenario already puts him in the final and I believe he would perform well, especially with the partners I have chosen for him.
  4. Morgan Willett: Have wanted to see more of her, we don’t have much to go on but I think that with these players she would def thrive in the final.

2020.02.07 16:40 ND_PC The r/MtvChallenge Fantasy Tournament: Redemption House - Day 15 (Round Two)

It’s the LAST MATCH of the second round of the MtvChallenge redemption house, losers! This is where the stakes get even higher for the official Fantasy League™ and for us as well. While in our first round, all teams had records of 0-1 (pffft, scrubs), this is the round where teams must have actually mustered a win in order to compete. All teams in this round are 1-1, so congrats to everyone for being perfectly mediocre at what we do.
Sorry, folks, but it looks like bitches couldn’t get stuff done this round, as u/honestkodaline and u/priorsloth take out u/NovaRogue’s team of powerhouses, badass women and vaguely creepy men with awkward-as-hell haircuts.
I’ll be honest - I’d vote against this team solely because MTV’s favorite replacement is on here. This man makes me nauseous and I can’t put my finger on why. I mean, MJ and Cara Maria are the only people to have ever been used as replacements twice on The Challenge, likely because people like them oh so much. Both are some of the most likable, multi-dimensional players this game has ever seen. Plus, they always seem to know exactly how to style their hair. [I’m really stuck on this hair thing, it seems.] I’d also like to remind the people at home that MJ is a pimp who gets all the girls - even over Landon, who just wants a nice one. Just ONE NICE GIRL, okay?!? Damn it, MJ. Now Landon’s gotta go break glass in the hot tub. How could you?
We all know how this final would end. MJ would be sopping wet, over Ibis, and they’d actually have a kid on the way. Rachel would be losing her mind over MJ: “The game is ugly, the inner circle is ugly, MJ is ugly, and I don’t want to be a part of it anymore.” Ruthie would be a hot fucking mess. And Jamie would be - Jaime? I don’t know. Moving on.
Koda and Sloth’s team, on the other hand, was made for this final. They have Evelyn Smith, Harvard Law graduate, physical specimen, and alliance fucker - who also manages to say goodbyes more dramatic than Rose saying goodbye to Jack at the end of Titanic. It’s not wack. They have one member of the Wonder Twins who thinks there are 21 continents (she graduated from fifth grade and then went straight on The Real World, okay, Zach?), Cohutta Grindstaff, who knows how to manhandle wet bananas, and Ace Amerson, who has a thing against hairy, uncircumsized French guys. What could go wrong?
So, we bid farewell to u/NovaRogue’s “Bitches Get Stuff Done.” At least we will still have their hilarious commentary and witty banter to look forward to in both Redemption House and Winner’s Bracket posts! To everyone else - fuck you, and fuck your alliance. Go dry off. - u/MandyMTV
Road Rules Bracket
Nobody is drowning on our watch! The self-proclaimed “Luckiest team in the tournament” survives another round untouched by the big blue sea, or literally any other body of water. Honestly, I figured this matchup would be a tossup, and it wasn’t. Why not, you might ask? Truth be told, I haven’t the slightest idea.
For some reason, people must look at Sam McGin and think, “Wow, that girl could find a key under a cowpie faster than a Cara can list all of her future intercourse locations in the Challenge house.” Or maybe they think Ninja would do well in a ghost town under the cover of darkness? I even read through the comments with reasoning from yesterday’s matchups and they all seemed valid, regardless of which team they were voting for, so to me, this is a baffling conundrum.
Perhaps what it comes down to is this: three miles isn’t all that far to start out with, but Kenny, Leroy, Ninja, and yes, even Sam, would finish as a team faster than Landon, Svetlana, Jamie Chung, and Knight. Especially Knight. And, even if it was close, Sam’s key-finding ability that I completely just made up would vault the Drowners way ahead of their opponents, and the memory game would present no problem for Mr. Beautiful or his teammate Ninja. While the other team certainly was formidable (I think I voted for them. Tbh I forget who I voted for almost everyday), Mr. Beautiful and the Drowners live to see another match. Congrats to u/Switchstop! And, better luck next time, u/willtwerkf0rfood. I guess I’ll have to write more entertaining character descriptions for you next time, or you can write your own ;) - u/ND_PC
Now, let’s get to voting on today’s matchups!
Real World Bracket

Final: Battle of the Seasons (2012)

Nia will be able to lean on Joss and Cooke pushing her with positive attitude to push her body to the limit.
[u/goddamnsundayscaries] - provided by u/ND_PC, who gets the scaries everyday.
  1. Turabi “Turbo” Camikran started his Challenge career as a literally misunderstood Turkish warrior. He bonded quickly with Nany over god knows what, and was able to become the champion of the season with the hardest final ever, as a rookie. As far as I know, all the fans loved him. But everything changed when the fire nation attacked he was exposed as a temperamental nuisance the following season. Luckily, u/goddamnsundayscaries chose the version of Turbo who had not yet revealed himself to be a doggie-paddling hothead with a gait complex. Instead, he was an honor-obsessed competition machine who celebrated with Street Fighter moves after he won literally anything.
  2. Nany Gonzalez has had multiple iterations on the show, and yes, I’m talking about her various cosmetic updates. At once a sympathetic heroine and a boisterous heel, she has been known to ruffle some feathers among the fans and on the show. This version of Nany happened before her cousin was ever on the show and before she freaked out versus Nia on Battle of the Exes II. Instead, she took home a second-place female finish behind only Laurel. Lucky for us, we still got some crazy Nany moments in Free Agents, like when she was defending Camila and wound up cursing her out, and we can do this shit all fucking day.
  3. Marlon Williams once dated Jemmye, and once did this alongside his RW: Portland housemate Jordan. Before the Challenge, he played linebacker at Texas Tech. That’s… basically all you need to know about Marlon. He’s a strong dude with fine endurance, and will probably excel at this particular final because it’s mostly a combination of those two things (plus puzzles, though, so watch out).
  4. Dear god, Nicole Ramos is on this team too? Nany’s aforementioned cousin works at a strip club, but she doesn’t dance! She has nothing to say to anybody, especially the girls who suck the farts out of each other’s asses. Let her eat her cheetos and be happy. And then what? Then what? Then what? What are you gonna do? Get the fuck out of her face. But really, her $299 mink eyelashes have that good glue, she once fought Britni for a barrel during a daily and lost the fight, and her birthday wish for Cara is that she stops aligning herself with Camila because Camila sucks and everyone hates her.
Battle of the Seasons Final Description - A big thank you to u/harsh-femme for providing this description!

[u/survivorfan123456] “The Dirtiest Players of All Time”
  1. This is a very well-rounded team.
  2. We have Jamie, one of the first 3-time champs who competed in 3 finals and won all 3 of them.
  3. Ruthie led the women's team on Battle of the Sexes and was a big force in the puzzle in that final, if only they tore it down before the guys took it.
  4. KellyAnne on The Ruins had the champs so scared they had to throw EVELYN against her just to take her out, and almost beat four men and Susie.
  5. Chet was a very solid competitor in Battle of the Seasons and was dragged down by Devyn in the final. With this solid crew, everyone is a team player and can take home the win.

Before we get to the voting, let’s recap last night’s fantasy draft match-ups. (Recaps today courtesy of u/MandyMTV!)
Real World Bracket
This might have been my favorite match-up in the entire Fantasy Tournament/Redemption House saga, considering the teams with the worst total player compositions went head to head. You have Shane, Sean, and Camila on one side, and Kenny and Tonya working together on the other. I’m utterly confused as to why this wasn’t a 0 - 0 tie, because there is no way on God’s green earth that any of these teams would cross the finish line.
u/mthompson22599’s accurately-named team, “I’m Sorry I Picked Both Tonya and Kenny,” wins this round, which is quite the shame - Camila is a mother-to-be, after all, and she could have used the prize money for all of the diapers and baby food and therapy her new mini-me will need. Just picture it: Camila, screaming and raging on the phone to her baby daddy. Wait - we don’t have to picture it! We already have a real-life representation. Let’s be real, though: we all know Camila will actually get a live-in nanny. Camila’s reaction to changing a diaper will probably be identical to her reaction when eating a pepper on the Spring Break Challenge.
Honestly, though, this will give Camila the break she needs to go home and focus on the things that really matter: speech therapy. She’s from Massachusetts, bitch! She doesn’t have an accent, she has a speech impediment, bitch! She has to get that taken care of, ya know? Plus, Camila thinks Bob Marley is a playboy bunny, so she’s got bigger things to worry about.
See ya next time, u/WhitneyAhn! Congratulations, u/mthompson22599!
Road Rules Bracket
In a close match, u/Delado99 takes out u/ToastyPuff4real’s “Mentally? Bums,” which is completely devastating because that means my jokes about Brad have to end - next round. However, this round, Brad was the reason his team lost. I’m sure of it.
This is how I see it going down: somehow, some way, Rogan orders pizza during the final, as one does. Rogan shares with everyone, but takes the last slice. Brad’s upset. Get gangster about it, Rogan. Brad doesn’t care. He would never be that selfish. It’s not about ice cream or pizza. It’s about people and respecting people in general, for the greater good of everybody. It’s called community. Think about that. Marinate on that. Get back to me.
Brad gets irate. Congratulations, Rogan, you’re a meathead, son. But, you know what? Don’t ever put your fucking hands on his underwear pizza - ever. And that, my friends, is the end of Brad and his crazy eyes.
Combine Brad’s anger with Kailah’s stupidity - her brain is scrambled like eggs, y’all - and that whole team is going down in flames.
Congratulations on having jokers on your team who can order a mean pizza, u/Gelado99!
Now, let’s get to voting!
Real World Bracket
Match: u/NovaRogue’s “Bitches Get Stuff Done” vs. u/honestkodaline and u/priorsloth’s “Adore Delano 2020”
Final: Battle of the Sexes
Editorial: OMG is this really the matchup? I’m gonna cry.
Teams
u/NovaRogue “Bitches Get Stuff Done”
[u/honestkodaline, u/priorsloth] “Adore Delano 2020”
Winner’s Logic
u/NovaRogue’s “Bitches Get Stuff Done”
  1. Rachel R was the winner of 4 dailies and the final on The Duel II, and finished it before any of the dudes. She also won Gauntlet 1 and made the final on Inferno 2. Endurance for days. No glaring weaknesses. She has a brain on her too - she won the spelling daily on Duel 2, alongside Evan.
  2. Ruthie was the leader of the Women on Sexes 1. She was in the Inner Circle every week after the first daily, had the highest cumulative score for the women (and more points than any man outside the Top 3), and got first in 2 dailies, including a shockingly impressive performance in the last daily, Maximum Velocity, winning cars for her whole team. No glaring weaknesses besides pure size, which shouldn’t come into play during a final. Great swimmer and kind leader and team player. Also made it deep on Sexes 2, being eliminated right before the elimination. Won the Royal Rumble on Gauntlet 2 and was only eliminated because she went against Beth in a weight-based elimination.
  3. Jamie M won every wingle season he appeared on. A 3-time champion. Was in the Inner Circle for every except one on Sexes 1, won 2 dailies, and won the final. Was tied for the 3rd best man on the Rookies on Gauntlet 2 outside of Alton and Landon. Truly a great competitor all-around.
  4. MJ tied with Jamie for the 3rd best man on the Rookies on Gauntlet 2, which he won with JAmie. They have proved they can work together. Won 2 eliminations and made it deep on Duel 2, being eliminated right before the final elimination
Battle of the Sexes Final Description - thanks to u/RohAnTheMaker for the great description!
This final will test balance, agility, brains and teamwork. Three main parts where all team members must complete each stage together:
  1. Tri-Ski Slalom - Each member gets on the same two skis and walk as a unit (similar to a three-legged race) across a beach and ovearound obstacles.
  2. Block by Block Brain Teaser - A puzzle where they are assembling blocks of different shapes into a specific shape, similar to the puzzle at the start of Rivals II
  3. PoleCat (Rope Course) - Must climb a rope net to a section where you take planks and connect from pole to pole to create a bridge across a series poles.
  4. Then each person ziplines to a section where they walked a tightrope. After they zipline into the water, each member swims to a flag and races to the finish line on the beach.
Road Rules Bracket
Match: u/SwitchStop's "Mr. Beautiful and the Drowners" vs. u/willtwerkf0rfood
Final: Battle of the Sexes II
Teams
[u/Switchstop] "Mr. Beautiful and the Drowners"
[u/willtwerkf0rfood]
Winner’s Logic
u/Switchstop "Mr. Beautiful and the Drowners"
  4. The oft-forgot Sam Mcginn completes the team.
[u/willtwerkf0rfood] - I, u/ND_PC, was kind enough to provide mostly serious write-ups for this user who will shake their derriere rapidly for digestive sustenance.
  1. Landon Lueck - Oh, you’re a “””young viewer””” of the Challenge and you have “””only watched since Vendettas””” ??? Well if people of your generation need a reason to vote for Landon, then you should know that he was on the same season of The Real World as Karamo from Netflix’s Queer Eye. For those of us who have actually seen Landon on The Challenge, we already know that he’s by all accounts a top-5 male challenger (or better) of all time. While not the optimal political player, Landon is excellent at dailies and, luckily for the sake of this tournament, excellent at finals, too. He is physically dominant and ultra competitive, but in a healthy way. He was only on four seasons but his competitors barely stood a chance.
  2. Svetlana Shusterman sort of has… the same profile as Landon? No, stay with me here: she’s not a great politician, but she has a healthy sense of competition and was pretty formidable. She was a one-season wonder with a second-place finish and she never backed down from a challenge. Okay, so she wasn’t as dominant as Landon (except she certainly excelled in swimming), and her sample size is much smaller, but she was a good teammate and she was physically very tough. She more than held her own during her tenure, and although she doesn’t find herself on any Top-10 female competitor lists today, her heart and her fight would make her much more of an asset than a liability.
  3. Jamie Chung, another one-season wonder, is a highly entertaining champion. How entertaining? She actually married an actor from One Tree Hill, and began a career as an actress herself. She played Mulan on Once Upon a Time, which my college roommate loved but never successfully convinced me to watch. But she was also in The Hangover Part II and Part III! As far as her Challenge strengths, she was fairly athletic, she had a lot of friends in the house, and she was on a team called the “Good Guys.” She could be a secret weapon on a four-person final team for sure.
  4. Ryan Knight’s ex-girlfriend Jemmye donated all of his clothes after they broke up. Poor Knight. Listen, he had an up-and-down personality, and competitively he got stuck with average to weak teammates (Preston, Jemmye, McKenzie). He was a high-level amateur hockey player before sustaining an injury, so he was athletically competent enough to succeed at physical challenges. He was also low-key super into the game for its own sake. He wanted to go into elimination against Bananas like it was no biggie. People seemed to like his energy in the house. He’s a good teammate and would probably complement his teammates’ strengths well here.

2020.02.05 15:13 NovaRogue Fantasy Tournament - Day 23 (Round of 16)

Guess who’s back in the house, heels click-clackin’ about.
Welcome to the MtvChallenge Fantasy Tournament! For the past month, teams have battled the elements, grueling physical challenges, and u/honestkodaline's personal insults to survive to the second round. To those who made it: 'grats! And to those who didn't (like me): democracy sucks and victims aren't we all. There's always the Redemption House bracket, everyone's fave feature, so fret not.
..
So what happened in yesterday's vote? What's the T Christine?
Queen Katie Doyle didn’t come to make friends, she came to eliminate men in Infernos, put Mexican Bengay on her armpits, and provide iconic (but expletive-filled) quotes. She dragged her ragtag team to a victory in the actual Inferno 1 final, because she was the only one who remembered the previous players that season – even though there were only EIGHT that went home. Unfortunately, in this fantasy final, Aviv Melmod is on the other team and can solve puzzles AND run faster than Sweet Angel Miss Doyle. Plus CT housed 100 of those taquitos in 3 minutes (he thought there was an extra 0 on the sign), and Brittini and Mike were excellent supporting players. u/ry-guy2fly wins Real World with 91 votes to u/mthompson22599’s 65. Sorry boo :(
For RR, just like yesterday, it was a closer vote. The Toxic team would’ve lived up to its name and had atrocious team chemistry. Unfortunately for u/gelado99, nobody knows what DJ Mel Reeves can do because she’s been on 6 episodes total over two seasons. If Sarah and Abram need to get medevaced in the actual Cutthroat final (and look who’s on this team 🐸☕️ hmmmm)… The original British Blonde would be in tarmac hell.
Even though they’re terrible people, Zach, Zanatta, and Adam King advance to the next round. Thank goddess for Brittini Sherrod – she’s like the Sam of this team, with Adam King the Ashley Kelsey (same initials!), Nicole the Frank (queer, strong, insufferable), and Zach the Zach (all Swedish, no Finnish). Actually, scratch that, Brittini S is way better than Sam, but I digress.
With 80 votes to 76, u/OkonkwoTheCat wins this match-up in the RR bracket!
And to u/mthompson22599 + u/Gelado99 – I wish you both luck in the Redemption House. You’re competing TODAY, if I’m not mistaken, so get your asses over there to campaign for your team! The losers' bracket is here.
..
Now, onto today’s actually-still-in-the-game vote.

REAL WORLD BRACKET -

u/honestkodaline + u/priorsloth “Adore Delano 2020” vs. u/dolfan2354 in the Rivals III final
Adore Delano 2020: Evelyn (Rivals 1), Ashley K (Seasons 2), Cohutta (Free Agents), Ace (Inferno 3)
u/dolfan2354: Derrick K (Ruins), Veronica (Inferno 1), Amanda (Final Reckoning), Nehemiah (Rivals 1)
..
The final, thanks to u/mthompson22599 !
This final consisted of three male/female teams who were not only competing against each other, but the partners within the teams were competing against each other. This was a two day final consisting of several checkpoints that allowed players to accumulate points compared to their partner. The first checkpoint had the teams untangling three sets of coiled wires. Once all the three wires were untangled, the player would they signal their completion by blowing up their dynamite stick. Teams could not move on until both teams were finished. The next checkpoint was a memory game while checkpoint 3 was a two-dimensional puzzle. From there, the teams had to sprint to the finish line to finish the first day. Teams had to take turns staying awake or sleeping throughout the night. Day two had the teams eat gross foods which earned their individual points. The grosser the foods, the more points that were awarded to the eater. Before moving on, the entire table had to be eaten. Finally teams had to climb up a mountain again to meet T.J. at the finish line where they were met with the grand prize.
Why you should vote for Adore Delano 2020
Other than strong competitors our teams biggest strength is that there is a clear alpha leader (Ev), and the other three are team players that will follow a strong competitor.
EVELYN SMITH WON A SIMILAR FINAL, on Rivals 1! Not only did she win this final, but she did it with Paula. They beat Laurel and Cara Maria who would easily win anything you threw at them today. Free Agents was Cohutta’s best run and he finished in 6th place. This season showed us that Cohutta can work on a team with ANYONE and perform above average.

Why you should vote for u/dolfan2354
Derrick K - Arguably one of the best players in eliminations due to his tenacity. Always will compete has a never say quit attitude as evidenced multiple time. Is a multi-time champion and has the cardio to crush any final. Is aware of shortcomings and is willing to sit back in puzzles and let those strong on his team due their thing. Is ready to crush any final!
Amanda - Is a very loyal player and will compete as hard as she can in anything she does while also making sure her voice is heard. Arguably the best player in the lavender ladies. In invasion she showed how dominate she is at puzzles by solving her puzzle in minutes during the blood bath while other players were at it for an hour. Has the strength to pull her weight on any challenge. Has shown she is in great shape and has never shown signs that she would struggle with a final.
Nehemiah - Is an all-around player and is a 1x champion. Came into rivals shredded and in the best shape he has ever been in. Was carrying his team with an overweight Evan and proved that he is capable to run a final and compete to win. Has the body size to provide the muscle and really crush anything while also having a good mind when it comes to the tough aspect of using your brain."

You Cannot Copy My Walk: Turbo (WotW1), Jenny W (WotW2), Da’Vonne (WotW1), Adam Kuhn (Exes 2)
u/willtwerkf0rfood: Landon (FM2), Svetlana (Duel 1), Jamie C (Inferno 2), Knight (Rivals II)
..
The final, thanks AGAIN to u/mthompson22599 – damn girl, you’re on fire! sorry you didn't win yesterday again :(
Just like the first Rivals Season, the format was three male/male teams and three female/female teams. It was split into two parts, Dream Island and Nightmare Island. To begin, the teams swam one mile in the middle of the ocean to Dream Island, where they were met with three geometric puzzles. The teams had one hour to put together their puzzles, retrieve a key to their kayaks, and paddle out to meet T.J. on a yacht. Only the top two teams of each gender would move on, with third place being purged out. The second part of the final, Nightmare Island, began with the remaining four teams swimming to the island, where they were instructed they would need to earn idols at five different checkpoints. After completing each checkpoint, teams must signal their completion of the checkpoint by pulling a pin on a smoke grenade. The first checkpoint had the teams removing 14 of the 15 pegs from a triangular board by jumping the spikes over one and another until only one remained. They could not move on until only one peg remained on the board. The second checkpoint "What's Mine is Yours" had the teams cutting through a chain-link fence, then solving a math puzzle using the Pythagorean theorem. Once they figured out the answer, they would have to cut the corresponding rope. If wrong, teams would have to cut all five ropes before moving on. The third checkpoint, "Food Test" had teams eating and drinking a variety of disgusting foods in numerical order, with the last jar holding the key needed to get the idol. At the fourth checkpoint, "Body Issues" teams had to move 20 body bags from one side of the course to another. After moving all the bags, teams were instructed to dig into the ground to retrieve the fourth idol. At the final checkpoint, "Tunnel Vision", the teams needed to dig a tunnel to underneath a cage with bamboo poles, with the last idol being inside the cage. Once the team had all five idols, they were able to retrieve the golden elephant and make their way to a canoe, in which they would have to row their way towards the yacht in the middle of the ocean where they would meet T.J. and their grand prize.
Why you should vote for You Cannot Copy My Walk
Turbo - Turbo’s biggest strength is his endurance and heart. He was able to win the longest and arguably most difficult final ever. He will give his team everything he has and push his body to the limits. He did well in puzzles, finishing fourth in the purge, as well as winning the daily where they were spinning in the plane and had to solve the puzzle. His swimming ability could be called into question because it was not shown, but based off his other abilities I would say he is an average swimmer. He ate one plate during the eating portion, but with the amount of heart he has I think he could compete with the best in an eating final. All in all he is a well-rounded competitor that is elite in endurance.
Jenny - Jenny has been underrated by many people because of the fashion in which she lost the hall brawl against Tori. She obviously has never played any contact sports growing up so she did not know how to play that elimination. But looking back to some of the dailies she was clearly the best runner as well as swimmer on the women’s side of the UK team. I think as far as endurance running and swimming she is right up there with the Laurel and Emily’s of the challenge. She may be slightly below elite tier because of the unknown. She absolutely beasted the puzzle against Nicole Bass, but it is hard to tell how quickly she finished because Nicole basically quit. She had shown to be a really good teammate and always keep a good composure under pressure. She has never run a final or done an eating challenge but it is safe to say that she would be very strong in both based off her training and performance in dailies.
Da’Vonne - Da’Vonne’s strength is puzzles. She absolutely demolished the purge, and also showed she was strong in puzzles on Final Reckoning. She is super underrated in strength and conditioning. In most possibly the hardest daily on the season, her and Wes won the challenge where they had to drag the metal to the dumpsters and weigh them. (The challenge where Ninja freaked out on Turbo). Wes was upset when he got stuck with Da’Vonne and she beasted it and won. Also, Bear quit on her in the other endurance daily with the tires, yet she kept going. She may not be in the best shape but she will never quit or hold her team back. She is also a very strong vocal leader, which is important to have in team finals. Also, she is the QUEEN of the challenge, if the other people let her make a final someday, she will for sure win it.
Adam - Adam was a very solid competitor. He won three eliminations in his six episode stint on the show. He was able to beat Dustin and Jessica in a physical climbing elimination, John and Simone in a eating competition, and Knight and Jemmye in a strength challenge. He did all of this with Brittany as his partner, who was not very good at any of the challenges they did. He never did any swimming so that is an unknown that some people may hold against him, but I am pretty confident he can swim better than the other teams weaker swimmers. Again he won an eating elimination, and was in fantastic shape on his season, so the endurance should be no problem for him. He did not have high tolerance for people that were weak performers but in a stacked team like he is on for this he would be willing to put his ego aside and compete as a team to win.
Why you should vote for u/willtwerkf0rfood - by Nova ;P
Landon is the GOAT and won the Fresh Meat 2 final with the last-drafted woman against the most dominant male/female team in herstory - Kenny/Laurel. His aptitude cannot be understated (and he looks great as an underwear model).
Jamie Chung & Svetlana both only did one season – and performed amazingly. Jamie worked with Landon in the Inferno 2 final, kept up with the boys, and won the whole thing. Svetlana made it all the way to the second place on Duel 1, winning THREE eliminations along the way. One was bullshit – the ripped flag/caribiner rule – but the other two (over Kina and Aneesa) were impressive.
As for Knight… He’s goofy? And played hockey? Idk he’s not a stud.
..
So which of these teams deserves to move ahead? You decide!

2020.01.27 06:20 honestkodaline Fantasy Tournament - Day Sixteen (Round of 32)

Welcome to the MtvChallenge Fantasy Tournament! For the past month, 64 users on our sub have been drafting teams of four to compete in hypothetical final challenges. Now that the draft is complete, it's time to decide who drafted the best team! This tournament will consist of two single-elimination brackets, The Real World and Road Rules. Once each bracket has a winner, the two winners will face off for the ultimate title.
Before we get to today's vote, here are the results from day fifteen:
REAL WORLD BRACKET - u/ry-guy2fly vs. u/harsh-femme's "Team Harsh Heauxs"; S11: The Gauntlet II
ry-guy2fly - 82
Team Harsh Heauxs - 68
It sucks to have anyone lose to this final, and especially when these are two very good teams. In hindsight, I probably should have taken out the truly random finals (read: all Gauntlets, refer back to this when we talk about The Island). Regardless, u/ry-guy2fly is moving on! His team is big. His team is mean. His team is getting old... hold up, I'm just describing C.T. Were there actually other people on this team?
ROAD RULES BRACKET - u/thatstats969 "Good Guys + OG Devil" vs. u/notthatblonde; S16: The Island
Good Guys + OG Devil - 77
notthatblonde - 73
Devin Walker beat Bananas in a LIGHT PUZZLE, and you guys don't think he can build a damn BOAT?
I mean, you could be right. It's hard for easy of us to say, since we haven't seen any of these people attempt anything remotely represented in this final, so your guess is as good as mine.
I will now try to contain my heartbreak that we are losing BOTH iterations of Theresa Gonzalez IN ONE ROUND! This was her last chance to win a final, and y'all are too busy looking into Mark Long's eyes! FOCUS UP! We no longer have Laurel OR Theresa... which, now that I think about it, frees up more space for Evelyn as the clearly strongest woman in the race, so I love this decision. Next round, remember that Emily Schromm is an overrated HACK and should receive no votes. Same page? Same page.
Well, that's the end of the road for u/harsh-femme and u/notthatblonde - EXCEPT IT'S NOT. The loser's bracket is WELL underway, and today's losers are actually competing in tomorrow's round! Have you ever had your heart broken two days in a row? Well, here's your chance! Vote on this thread.
Now let's get to today's vote!
REAL WORLD BRACKET -
u/zzsmith413 vs. u/honestkodaline, u/priorsloth "Adore Delano 2020"; S21: Rivals
zzsmith413: Evan Starkman (The Duel II), Tony Raines (Vendettas), Kailah Casillas (Vendettas), Tina Barta (The Inferno II)
Adore Delano 2020: Cohutta Grindstaff (Free Agents), Ace Amerson (Inferno III), Evelyn Smith (Rivals I), Ashley Kelsey (Battle of the Seasons II)
What the final entailed: The final was split into two days, the first time in challenge history. The finale began with each team being dragged under water by a boat for 200 yards. When they let go of the rope, they would then need to swim to their kayaks and then row three miles down a river to the first checkpoint.
At the first checkpoint, "Pet Rock" they would need carry a heavy rock and chain until told otherwise.
The next checkpoint was "Memories", which was a campsite that the teams needed to memorize every single detail. When they felt confident in remembering the site, teams could continue on with their pet rock.
The next checkpoint was "Pile Up", in which they needed to shovel mounds of dirt into a wheelbarrow and transfer it to a specified dump zone further away. They could not move on until the entirety of their dirt was transferred.
The next checkpoint was "Re-creation Campsite" where the teams would recreate the campsite they had previously memorized. Once the campsite was correctly ted, teams could move on. If not, they had to run back to the original campsite to memorize the site again.
Finally, teams reached the "Final Feast" checkpoint. They had to finish every plate they were offered before they could move on. Instead of the normal bugs and gross food the Challenge typically offered, this time teams had to eat a delicous feast that seemed to never end.
Once finished, teams hiked up to a mountain and arrived at the "Sleep or Stand" checkpoint. Here one member had to stand and alance on a rock, while their teammate was able to sleep in a tent. If the teammate fell off the rock, they had to wake their partner and switch. This lasted all night until T.J. came in the morning.
The second part of a challenge was a hike up a mountain. Teams started based off their arrival at the "Sleep or Stand" checkpoint with the first team recieving a two minute headstart. Each team recived an avalanche beacon programmed to the keys needed to unlock the trophy at the finish line. Once teams find their keys, they could race to the finish line to meet with T.J. and their prize.
Why you should vote for zzmith413: Evan is big (or, for the glass-half-empty-ers: fat). Tony eats mayonnaise. Kailah has her bladder much more under control now. Tina is a badass hands-on-her-hips bitch.
I don't usually put much effort into other people's player summaries, but even less when I'm facing them. Don't vote for u/zzsmith413. I'm out.
Why you should vote for Adore Delano 2020: Other than strong competitors our teams biggest strength is that there is a clear alpha leader (Ev), and the other three are team players that will follow a strong competitor.
EVELYN SMITH WON THIS EXACT FINAL! Not only did she win this final, but she did it with Paula. They beat Laurel and Cara Maria who would easily win anything you threw at them today. We know this wasn’t because Paula is a powerhouse, it was literally ALL on Ev. I don’t need to say much more because Ev is iconic, she won this season, and any true Challenge fan knows her resume. Game, set, match.
Ace Amerson invented the trash can punch. He hooked up with Tonya. He was on Team Good Guys on Inferno 3, because he is a good guy. In real life, he rides a lot of 4-wheelers and has a cute dog. He'll listen to Evelyn's orders. He'll be a supportive teammate and friend to all, except Derrick.
Our team is a lean, mean machine - heavy on the lean. We run. We think critically (well, Evelyn does). We fight (well, Evelyn does). We get shit done... well, you get the point.
Also, and unrelated to this tournament, WATCH ADORE DELANO ON EX ON THE PEAK! This may seem unrelated to The Challenge, but it's all part of mine and u/priorsloth's master plot to get Adore on our show. There are a lot of things to campaign for in the world, and this is obviously the most important one. Throttling toward irreversible climate disaster, in which humans will not theoretically be able to survive? Not even half a concern when you're watching Adore Delano on your screen. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is why we watch reality television!
ROAD RULES BRACKET: u/KCDoc4 "Fresh Meat Sweats" vs. DQ - Because abdyny dropped out of the draft, u/KCDoc4 will move automatically into the round of 16.
Fresh Meat Sweats: Theo Von (Battle of the Sexes II), Ty Ruff (Battle of the Exes), Camila Nakagawa (Dirty 30), Kendal Sheppard (The Inferno I)
abdyny: Johnny Reilly (Free Agents), Dee Nguyen (War of the Worlds II)
Unfortunate that we lost u/abdyny, because this was the foundation for a solid team!
So which of these teams deserves to move ahead? You decide!
VOTE HERE.
Voting will close at 10pm EST, 1/27. And as a reminder, upon the conclusion of this vote, THE SECOND ROUND WILL COMMENCE! We are officially halfway through this tournament. Thanks to all for your involvement and votes - this has been a damn fun way to keep Challenge discussion alive during the offseason. Hope everyone has a kickass week!

2020.01.23 15:34 honestkodaline r/MtvChallenge Fantasy Tournament - Day Fourteen

Before we get to today's vote, here are the results from day thirteen:
REAL WORLD BRACKET - u/mthompson22599 "I'm Sorry I Picked Both Tonya and Kenny" vs. u/probzhyperbole; S9: Battle of the Sexes II
I'm Sorry I Picked Both Tonya and Kenny - 86
probzhyperbole - 47
u/mthompson22599 may have drafted both Tonya and Kenny, but at least they didn't draft Adam and Cory, who are obviously incapable of... * checks notes * doing the limbo?
(This final was little more than a string of carnival games, with the finale of a card memory game. What exactly did we think Kenny and co. could do that Sarah Rice can't do better?)
ROAD RULES BRACKET - u/willtwerkf0rfood vs. u/wakemeupp; S8: The Inferno
willtwerkf0rfood - 67
wakemeupp - 66
Well, this is officially the closest race we've had! u/willtwerkf0rfood pulls this out by the skin of their teeth - probably because voters were imagining Landon twerking. And I don't blame you - that is a lovely thing to imagine.
Can we talk about what a non-final this was, as well? We are so blessed that this show is actually competitive now. Imagine if modern finals were like this.
"And now, Paulie and Jordan will race in a taco-eating contest. Whoever can eat the most in three minutes will earn one million dollars. Ready. Set. Go!"
Well, that's the end of the road for u/probzhyperbole and u/wakemeupp - EXCEPT IT'S NOT. The loser's bracket has begun! The voting works the same as this tournament, so essentially the only change is that now you have the opportunity to lose TWICE - and almost everyone will. Oh, happy days!
Here's today's Redemption House round! Get over there and vote!
Now let's get to today's vote!
REAL WORLD BRACKET -
u/BCastle18 “Team Weston is the Beston” vs. u/greghulks "Team Bob Marley-Hefner"; S22: Battle of the Exes
Team Weston is the Beston: Landon Lueck (Fresh Meat 2), Adam Kuhn (Battle of the Exes 2), Sylvia Elsrode (Final Reckoning), Natalie Negrotti (Final Reckoning)
(Yes, you read that right - Team Weston is the Beston does not actually feature Weston.)
Team Bob Marley-Hefner: Hunter Barfield (Final Reckoning), Ashley Cain (War of the Worlds I), Ashley “Millionaire” Mitchell (Invasion of the Champions), Jenn Grijalva (Cutthroat)
What the final entailed: Final location: Langjokull Glacier, Iceland; Final challenge: Viking Quest
Objective: Race through a series of checkpoints to complete tasks and earn seven Viking Artifacts. Once you have all the artifacts, you’ll race up the Langjokull Glacier. First team to the top wins.
Checkpoint One: Dog Sledding - Race a dogsled for one mile to checkpoint two. You will then run one mile. Keep in mind, it’s already gotten dark and it is currently 16 degrees
Checkpoint Two: River Plunge - Jump into freezing water and touch the buoy in the river. Once you’re back on land, your time will be stopped. Times from Checkpoints One and Two will be combined, and the fastest time gets the best sleeping arrangements: Heaters, air mattresses, blankets, and more. The slowest team gets only yoga mats and sleeping bags. In the morning, the checkpoints begin again. Today, you’ll be racing another twelve miles.
Checkpoint Three: Feast For a Viking - Eat the head of a deer, squares of soured shark, and drink a horn of sheep’s blood. Once the food has been consumed, you can continue on to Checkpoint Four.
Checkpoint Four: Ice Key - Here, you must break through a block of ice to retrieve a key to unlock snowshoes. Then you’ll strap on the snowshoes and run to the next checkpoint. (There doesn’t appear to be any professionals on-hand to teach you how to attach these lovely pairs of footwear, so if you’re like CT, you’ll struggle through this and completely blow your lead while your partner looks on in frustration. Oh, city boys.)
Checkpoint Five: Poled Out - This puzzle consists of 13 logs, arranged to make 6 complete boundaries, each containing a boulder. Using 12 of the logs, find a way to make six even shapes, then run for a mile to the next checkpoint.
Checkpoint Six: What an Ice Hole - Using ice picks, dig your way through a snow tunnel. Once you’ve broken through to the other side, you’ll run a mile to the next checkpoint. (Unrelated to this final, but here is an actual quote from Bananas while Camila tries to break through the snow: “We always say, ‘Let the boys do it,’ when you always insist that the girls try. And this is why. Get out of the way.”)
Checkpoint Seven: Sliced Up - Arrange a tower of blocks to match the puzzle guide. Once complete, run another mile to the next checkpoint.
Checkpoint Eight: Using your seven artifacts, solve a puzzle by arranging the artifacts into a sundial. Once the puzzle is complete, you race up the glacier (or, if you’re CT, you crawl up while wishing for imminent death). First to the top wins!
Why you should vote for Team Weston is the Beston: Landon in the night elimination against Luke and Ev literally dragged a almost unconscious Carley to a win and in the finals carried Carley up a mountain to get the win over 3 teams that on paper seemed stronger one of which included two top 10 challengers of all time in Kenny and Laurel with the weakest partner. Also did all of this while being respectful and supportive of his partner throughout showing he is very much a great team player.
Why you should vote for Team Bob Marley-Hefner: Hunter (Final Reckoning) -
In my opinion an underrated competitor with plenty of strength and drive. One weakness for him is his social/political game which should hopefully be minimised by the time he reaches a final and another is his lack of puzzle skills. However, among a team of people who are good at puzzles this should also be minimised - specifically teamed with Ashley whose skills balance his well and as long as there isn't a challenge around slut-shaming your teammates he'll be okay.
Ashley M. (Invasion) -
Brings different skills to the group with a proven talent for puzzles as well as having decent swimming and endurance capabilities. While she'll go on to have further success, Invasion Ashley has the advantage of getting along better with Hunter and has shown that once she makes it to a final she is highly motivated to get the win and the money.
Jenn (Cutthroat) -
A solid and experienced competitor with multiple elimination wins behind her to prove she's not all social game. With a (hopefully semi-decent) team around her this should hopefully translate to a good finals showing.
Ashley C. (Wotw) -
Smashed the first challenge (combining speed and a puzzle) on War of the Worlds against a strong field, beating all the other prospects and most of the veterans. Physically strong but also kept up in the endurance challenges. It took a blindfolded challenge to get him eliminated so has plenty of untapped potential.
ROAD RULES BRACKET: u/appropriatelywhelmed vs. u/zacped; S21: Rivals
appropriatelywhelmed: Dustin Zito (Battle of the Seasons II), Cohutta Grindstaff (The Ruins), Heather Cooke (Rivals II), Veronica Portillo (The Inferno)
zacped: Paulie Calafiore (War of the Worlds I), Marlon Williams (Rivals II), Ashley Mitchell (Invasion of the Champions), Carley Johnson (Fresh Meat II)
What the final entailed: The final was split into two days, for the first time in challenge history. The finale began with each team being dragged under water by a boat for 200 yards. When they let go of the rope, they would then need to swim to their kayaks and then row three miles down a river to the first checkpoint. At the first checkpoint, "Pet Rock," they would need carry a heavy rock and chain until told otherwise.
Instead of the normal bugs and gross food the Challenge typically offered, this time teams had to eat a delicious feast that seemed to never end.
Once finished, teams hiked up to a mountain and arrived at the "Sleep or Stand" checkpoint. Here one member had to stand and balance on a rock, while their teammate was able to sleep in a tent. If the teammate fell off the rock, they had to wake their partner and switch. This lasted all night until T.J. came in the morning.
The second part of a challenge was a hike up a mountain. Teams started based off their arrival at the "Sleep or Stand" checkpoint with the first team receiving a two minute head start. Each team received an avalanche beacon programmed to the keys needed to unlock the trophy at the finish line. Once teams found their keys, they could race to the finish line to meet with T.J. and their prize.
(Thanks to u/mthompson22599 for this summary!)
Why you should vote for appropriatelywhelmed: Neither team here submitted player summaries, so all words are my own. (Though you'd probably have been able to tell that without my prompting.)
Well, Dustin Zito might have gone full Donald Trump, but he was still the best character on Battle of the Seasons 2 - and by the best, I mean he was the only one I didn't actively hate. He was a supportive friend to Nany. He said iconic things to Frank and Trishelle. He absolutely lost his goddamn mind when Trishelle couldn't dive ten feet underwater. Vote for Dustin.
Cohutta is Cohutta. Look at him. He is a man of the mountains. He is maybe the most wholesome cast member in the history of ever. He dated both KellyAnne and Nany. He beat the mighty Preston Roberson-Charles in an elimination. VOTE FOR COHUTTA.
If you don't know why you should vote for Cooke, leave now and don't come back.
Okay, that was aggressive. I didn't mean it. Guys, Cooke MIGHT be the best one-and-done competitor of all-time. She is now a professional soccer player in the Philippines. She won 3 eliminations. She peed into a pool of water that she would have fallen into, had she lost. But she knew she wouldn't lose. Because she's Heather Cooke.
Also, can we talk about how shady her ONE line of "Career" section on Wikipedia is?
Cooke joined Swedish third-tier club Landsbro IF in April 2014,[6] and captained the side to a last-place finish in the 2014 season.
If someone doesn't put respect on Cooke's name SOON, I am going to motherfucking RIOT. Vote for Cooke.
Veronica drinks a lot of wine. She broke her finger once, I think. She basically invented the Challenge Bad Bitch. She created her own T-shirt line. She led her team to victory on Inferno. Vote for Veronica.
Why you should vote for zacped: Paulie is big. Paulie is strong. Right now, he has a terrible haircut, but that is beside the point. He once lost two Redemption rounds to Da'Vonne and Jozea, but that is also beside the point. He is good at puzzles. He is good at gaslighting his girlfriends. I don't think I'm capable of staying on-point here. Vote for Paulie.
Marlon is another one-and-done standout. He hooked up with Derek. (Marlon has come so far from his closeted days - these days, he thrives with men and women alike on the current season of Ex on the Beach.) He's not a great swimmer, and yes, he single-handedly lost his final for his single-handed partner.
There was no redemption there. Marlon is the reason he and Jordan lost. Vote for Marlon.
Ashley "Millionaire" Mitchell is a motherfucking two-time champion and stealer of hearts and money. She doesn't stand for slut-shaming, unless she's the one doing it. She flips from alliance to alliance every season. She beat a crew of champions on Invasion that included Laurel, Cara, Camila, and the most feared competitor of all, Ashley Kelsey. (Don't forget that she also triumphed over the majestic likes of Anika Rashaun and LaToya Jackson.) Vote for Ashley.
Much like Michael Jordan in 1996, Carley Johnson pushed off (Landon) to earn her championship. I don't have much else to say about that, because now that I've brought up the Bulls'hit victory over the Utah Jazz I can't think about anything else. Vote for Carley.
So which of these teams deserves to move ahead? You decide!
VOTE HERE.
Voting will close at 10pm EST, 1/23. Get to it!

2019.08.21 16:11 honestkodaline Ranking the best Challenge hookups - top 7 results

Hello beautiful people!! We’re back for the next round of ranking our favorite onscreen Challenge hookups. Here are the results for our top 9:
  1. CT and Diem — 100
  2. Abram, Veronica, and Rachel — 94
  3. Cohutta and Nany — 70
  4. Jordan and Tori — 64
  5. Mike and Paula — 62
  6. Derek and Marlon — 58
  7. Thomas and Cara Maria — 58
8. Wes and Kelly Anne — 56
9. Abram and Cara Maria — 50
YES!!!!!! JORDAN AND TORI CLIMBED INTO FOURTH PLACE!!!!! GOD HAS BLESSED US ALL ON THIS BEAUTIFUL DAY!!!!!!!!!
In other thrilling news, for the first time this ranking, CT and Diem managed to hold onto first place two rounds in a row. The threesome holds strong in second. Then, we have results that warm my heart through my toes. Cohutta and Nany still in third? A blessing. Jordan and Tori beating all the other actual hookups? Love to see it. Mike and Paula in the top 5? Obviously. Why wouldn’t they be?
The only reason I haven’t sworn at you or threatened your life or called you a Republican, all equal insults, is because Thomas and Cara and Derek and Marlon survive another round. You’re all trying my patience, but it won’t work. Thomas and Cara are actually destined to win this thing. I’m not sure how they’re alive, but I’m not even trying to complain.
Okay, so let’s talk about our eliminated couples! I know you guys will hate to hear about them, since they’re actual hookups (I’m about two paragraphs from stepping off my high horse, I swear), but the ranking must go on. Both eliminated couples dated off the show and were a couple through at least one season of filming. Wes and Kelly Anne was short-lived, but obviously Cara and Abram have a more storied relationship. We got to (correct verb usage? Had to? Were held hostage and forced to?) watch their relationship evolve over years and many seasons. On Rivals II, we learned that Cara attached battery packs to her nipples and lots of other “fun” (used VERY loosely here) facts about her and Abram’s sex life. Then it turned out he was actually an abusive asshole, which should surprise approximately no one.
Anyway, the important part of Cara and Abram’s elimination is that Thomas remains as Cara’s last hookup, which really makes all right with the world. Sure, maybe we didn’t actually see them hook up (depending on which camera angles you believe), but we got to see the ensuing drama, which was the literal only watchable part of Bloodlines. Since Thomas and Cara aren’t long for this world, let’s all take a moment to celebrate what they brought to our screens.
All riiiiight! So we have our top 7! Today you can vote for two couples again, and hopefully our list standings don’t change too much!! I’d hate to see anyone, especially Mike and (I haven’t even said this word yet and I can’t let a writeup go without it) FUCKING PAULA! My heart’s been broken too much in my life, guys. Pets dying. Boyfriends leaving. Getting approximately 800,000 rejection letters. I can’t take much more. So thank God my absolute favorite couples are still here, and dare I say it, THRIVING. The joy in my heart! I could sing!
Oh my God. Imagine actually having to be a positive person in your real life. I’ve written six paragraphs and I’m actually tingling with self-loathing. Jesus.
It’s time to get down to our top 5. Vote with your heart and your mind and everything that might incline you toward on-screen couples that we saw together on-screen that hooked up on-screen that we could see on our screens.

2019.07.18 02:27 hhhh333 I would love to see a Bloodlines season made correctly

Its such an interesting concept and has worked for Survivor and BB. Id love to see it on the challenge. However season 1 had some flaws that turned it into a negative season for most people. Some of the biggest were:
-screwy format
-bloodlines with no charisma or desire to be on TV
-lack of interesting relationship dynamics
To give bloodlines a facelift:
-Bloodlines 2 could have the pairs split into 2 teams right off the bat. Winning team votes someone from losing team in. Losing team votes in one of their own. Either that or pairs a la exes/rivals, but not both ( midseason format shifts are the worst)
-Casting better bloodlines would be easier now since many new competitors have bloodlines that are used to being on TV (ex. Liz and Julia)
-Most people don't have interesting dynamics with their cousins, and bloodlines on the first season were mostly just seen as an extension of their bloodline. However their are lots of people in the MTV universe with complicated family dynamics, which would make them having to compete with eachother interesting. Bf/Gfs could also be considered bloodlines as they are in Survivor.
semi realistic casting choices:
-Tori/Jordan ( dating)
-Cara/Cousin (would be interesting to see if Jaimie could win again)
-Paulie/Cody (brothers, Cody was on BB. Cody is generally perceived as the nicer brother )
-Angela/Kristina (sisters, both on BGC together. They had a complicated relationship but seem to be on good terms, but how would they do competing against one another)
-Liz/Julia ( they deserve a second chance, both were sent home last time because of a twist)
-Morgan/Alex (both were on BB. They worked pretty well strategically together)
-Tony/Madison (co-parents. I think we'd all want to see this team we were robbed from seeing in FR)
-Cory/Cheyenne (co-parents. Their family started on the challenge and itd only be right for them to come back together).
-Jenna/Brianna (redemption. Also brianna is hilarious)
-Cohutta/Jill (robbed because of bloodlines stupid rules. Each of them could've done really well)
-Bananas/Leroy (you know MTV would pull some shit like this)
Some unrealistic choices:
-Bruno/Briah (i Don't know if bruno would come back but I love their dynamic)
-Brad/Tori (coparents. I know a lot of older fans want to see them back)
-CT/Faith(Diem's sister) or Lilianna (wife): (Faith would be a great bloodline but I don't think she wants to be on the show.

2019.06.08 01:28 JuanRiveara Favorite Male Challengers According to the Sub(2019 Edition)

Last week I posted this thread asking for the members of the sub to rank your Top 5 favorite males and females. This list is for the favorite males, for favorite females go here. Without anything else to go over, here is the list:
25-11
25. Zach Nichols(RW San Diego 2)
24. Devin Walker(AYTO 3)
23. Hunter Barfield(AYTO 3)
22. Theo Campbell(Love Island)
21. Alton Williams(RW Las Vegas)
20. Timmy Beggy(RR 2nd Adventure)
19. Paulie Calafiore(Big Brother 18)
18. Nelson Thomas(AYTO 3)
17. Cohutta Grindstaff(RW Sydney)
16. Tony Raines(RW Skeletons)
15. Joss Mooney(Ex on the Beach UK)
14. Stephen Bear(Ex on the Beach UK)
13. Evan Starkman(Fresh Meat)
12. Kenny Santucci(Fresh Meat)
11. Leroy Garrett(RW Las Vegas 2)
10. Kyle Christie(Geordie Shore)
Last Year Rank: Debut
Peak: #10
Debut Season: Vendettas
Latest Season: War of the Worlds
Number of Seasons: 3
One of two new people in the Top 10 Kyle debuted on Vendettas where he finished 3rd overall and 2nd for the guys. He also started his showmance with Cara Maria that we all know how it turned out by now. Whatever you personally think of the drama between him, Cara, and Paulie many have seen Kyle come out of it as the good guy and to go along with he also showed a lot of heart and fire this last season which. Obviously this was enough to earn him the respect of fans and a spot in the Top 10.
9. Darrell Taylor(RR Campus Crawl)
Last Year Rank: #4(Down 5 Spots)
Peak: #4
Debut Season: The Gauntlet
Latest Season: Dirty 30/Vendettas(as a Mercenary)
Number of Seasons: 8
One of all the all time winningest Challengers Darrell started off his Challenge career with four straight wins and boasts an impressive 5-2-1 elimination record. The last time we saw Darrell was as a mercenary on Vendettas where he and Nelson were apart of the first elimination tie in Challenge history. Before that he suffered a loss to Tony in a Redemption challenge costing him a chance to earn his fifth win. Darrell has not been on a full season since but I’m sure many fans are hoping for him to return and reclaim his Challenge crown.
8. Johnny "Bananas" Devenanzio(RW Key West)
Last Year Rank: #8(No Change)
Peak: #8
Debut Season: The Duel
Latest Season: War of the Worlds
Number of Seasons: 18
Hate him or love him you can’t deny the impact Johnny has had on the show. The all-time winningest Challenge and the one with the most appearances it can be hard to imagine the show without him though with his early exit on WotW we did get to have taste of what it might look like. Johnny’s performances have been lackluster since his win with Sarah on Rivals 3. Not counting redemption eliminations he is now tied with Danny for most consecutive elimination defeats. Is there really a curse on him or have people finally decided to stop being his pawns? We will have to see if the next time he is on if he can earn back the title of Challenge Champ or if he’ll continue to come up short.
7. Jordan Wiseley(RW Portland)
Last Year Ranking: #10(Up 3 Spots)
Peak: #7
Debut Season: Rivals 2
Latest Season: Dirty 30/Vendettas(as a Mercenary)
Number of Seasons: 4
With only one and half hands Jordan has done more than most will do in their Challenge careers. He has won the last two seasons he was on and went to a final in his rookie season. Many want to see him come back to improve his legacy after a dominating Dirty 30 finals performance. If he comes back will he live up to expectations or would a return prove to be lackluster? Time can only tell.
6. Abram Boise(RR South Pacific)
Last Year Ranking: #6(No Change)
Peak: #6
Debut Season: The Gauntlet
Latest Season: Battle of the Bloodlines
Number of Seasons: 9
The second and last of Cara Maria’s exes in the Top 10 Abram endeared himself to fans with his crazy personality. While it can be too much for some people his passion and energy has proven to be enough to find himself in the hearts of many Challenge fans. Since his last season and break up with Cara he has seemed to be in a good place in his life and has found a new girl he is now married to so congratulations on Abram all around.
5. Turabi "Turbo" Çamkıran(Survivor Turkey)
Last Year Ranking: Debut
Peak: #5
Debut Season: War of the Worlds
Latest Season: War of the Worlds
Number of Seasons: 1
The highest debut in Top 10, latest person in the Top 10 to join the Challenge family, and the highest ranking foreigner Turbo did the impossible last season where he won on his rookie season, a feat no rookie has done in a season with individual winners(or winner in Turbo’s case). Whether it’s his passion for competition, his good hearted nature, or just his accent it’s hard not to love Turbo. I definitely see him rising up the rankings if he continues to be on.
4. Derrick Kosinski(RR X-Treme)
Last Year Ranking: #5(Up 1 Spot)
Peak: #4
Debut Season: Battle of the Sexes 2
Latest Season: Dirty 30/Vendettas(as a Mercenary)
Number of Seasons: 10
Derrick started off his Challenge career as the lovable underdog but evolved into one of the all-time winningest Challengers with three wins under his belt. The highest ranking Road Ruler on the list Derrick was a mainstay on the show from his first appearance on Sexes 2 to Cutthroat. His last full season was his comeback season on Dirty 30 in which he performed great all season but came up short in the final finishing second to Jordan. We did however see him as a mercenary on Vendettas winning his epic elimination vs Joss. While he has yet to be back since he is still a big part of the Challenge world hosting the podcast Challenge Mania with Scott Yager. While that might be enough to sustain some fans of his I’m sure many are waiting for the day where Scott opens a show saying Derrick will be away for a couple months.
3. Landon Lueck(RW Philadelphia)
Last Year Ranking: #3(No Change)
Peak: #3
Debut Season: The Inferno II
Latest Season: Fresh Meat II
Number of Seasons: 4
Often thought of as the GOAT of the show Landon started out great winning his first two seasons on Inferno 2 and Gauntlet 2. While he was great on those seasons his legend truly starts on Duel 2 where he dominated a pretty good male cast on pretty much all the challenges. While a disappointing elimination loss to Brad cost him that season he returned for another go on Fresh Meat 2. While Kenny and Laurel dominated the season Landon managed to make it to the final and literally pushed his partner to a win on his final season to date. Landon‘s competitive spirit mixed with his friendly personality created a challenger who is easy to love and pretty much impossible to hate making him a Top 3 challenger for many fans.
2. Chris "CT" Tamburello(RW Paris)
Last Year Ranking: #1(Down 1 Spot)
Peak: #1
Debut Season: The Inferno
Latest Season: War of the Worlds
Number of Seasons: 15
CT was a dominant #1 these last two rankings but after lackluster showing on WotW he has finally been taken down from that spot. CT is the person we’ve seen grow the most on the show, from almost killing someone on Duel 2 to now being a father and one of the most chill people show, it has been amazing to see his evolution. While he only has two wins to show for himself CT has without a doubt been one of the most dominant performers in Challenge history, even with his dad bod he won Invasion and dominated Dirty 30 up until the final. His early exit on WotW has hopefully motivated him into getting into better shape but even if it didn’t he’s sure to be a joy on the next season he is on.
1. Wes Bergmann(RW Austin)
Last Year Ranking: #2(Up 1 Spot)
Peak: #1
Debut Season: Fresh Meat
Latest Season: War of the Worlds
Number of Seasons: 11
Wes finally returned to the show for the first time since Rivals 3 and with his strong performance he was able to bump himself into the top spot. While his appearances on the Champs vs seasons were great it was even better to get him on the real thing. With Johnny out this early Wes became the narrator on the season and while he only got third he seemed to win the battle for camera time. From being on one of the most popular Real World seasons to being the elimination king to just being one of the most entertaining members on the cast there’s no shortage of reasons to love and all of those added up to him claiming the top spot this year.
That’s the list, leave your thoughts below if you want and make sure to check the female list linked above.
Edit: Fixed the numbers for 25-11

2018.10.18 06:45 blondbeans My idea of a cast for Battle of the Exes 3

You know you're diving real deep into the fandom when you are predicting cause for seasons that are far off, but I feel enough time has passed (numerous hookups and relationships) since the last BOtE that it would work really well. Here is what I think the cast could be and a few wild card picks I hope would be. Most of my knowledge is of the challenge and big brother, so if there are some other good exes from other shows, just know its cause I did not know about them. Obviously Exes is used as a very loose term by MTV, and as do I. Lmk what ya like and what could be added or changed.

Reasonably could be on this season together
  1. Bananas and Natalie: Of course you gotta have the Banana man on here, assuming filming doesn't conflict with First Look, and since he doesn't have many "hookups" per se, I felt his "relationship" over the course of Vendettas and FR is most significant. You could sub in Angela here too, but I felt Natalie worked better.
  2. Kyle and Cara Maria: You also gotta have Cara as well. Since Kyle seems to be a key character on the show now, and his and Cara's relationship went up in flames, I felt this pairing made sense. If Paulie and Cara break up tho, he could fill this spot too.
  3. Nelson and Kayleigh: Definitely a lot of drama between these two over this season and Vendettas as well. With Kayleigh kissing Johnny and some other shenanigans this season, the history is there. If Angela is on the season too, could be interesting since her and Nelson are dating.
  4. Leroy and Kam: With Kam becoming a big character on the Challenge now, and Leroy being a fan favorite, would be a team enjoyed by fans. Would need to explain their "relationship" that was under wraps, but worth it.
  5. Brad and Britni: Always nice to see an OG on a challenge, which can be hard to cast them on a BOE if youre using recent relationships. Things didnt end as well as they couldve between the two, and the drama of Brad seeing Britni on TV makes it interesting as well. *EDIT* If you can somehow manage to get Tori, would be much better instead, then you can pair off Chuck and Britni since they didn't get a good shake together.
  6. Laurel and Nicole: After a several month relationship after invasion, things definitely ended bad for these two. May be hard to cast since Nicole's work schedule as firefighter limits her, but would be great to see since it would otherwise be hard to cast a same-sex relationship. Could hypothetically cast DJ Mel if Laurel wouldnt do it.
  7. Paulie and Danielle (From Bachelor): After things ended badly due to Paulie cheating on Danielle while he went away to film FR, could bring a lot of drama, especially if Cara Maria is on the cast. Could also cast Zakiyah from BB18 ifn Danielle would not do it.
  8. Liz and Austin (Big Brother 17): With Liz likely to be on the season that is currently filming, if she does well and comes back, it could be interesting to bring on her showmance from Big Brother 17 as well. This is the point in my list where I need to start to reach.
  9. Amanda and Joss: Really appeared more as a relationship of convenience, but Amanda brings drama, and Joss can be entertaining as well at times.
  10. Zach and Ashley(RWSD): Dang we are really going far back now. But Zach seems to be a regular, and Im trying to write 13 teams. *EDIT* If production wants to bring Jenna on, then this could be an interesting dynamic since although they are together, theyve also been exes and have a long history.
  11. Hunter and Ashley (RWEx): Yes I know they are paired together already. But seeing as more drama will come out of FR (just wait) they will have much more to argue about. Come back after this season and try to argue against this.
-Ya I couldnt do 13 sound here are a couple of wild cards tho:
  1. Wes and Kellyanne: Of course we all love Wes, and Kellyanne is fun to see in doses as well. These two were in a real relationship a long time ago, but hey its Wes so we can allow it. *EDIT* If Wes won't do it, then use Cohutta instead.
  2. Cory and Cheyenne: Would be a historic first to have exes that actually have a kid together. I'd pay to see it. *EDIT* If Cheyenne won't, then a safe bet could be Aneesa. If production is willing to take a risk for the sake of entertainment, then Kailah is a viable choice. If they are feeling realllllyyyy ballsy, then you could try out Camilla again.
  3. Tony and Madison: Quite a long shot now with recent events, but hey ya never know as they were rumored to be mercenaries on FR

And that concludes my casting! Please comment and help me make it better and suggest pls. MTV if youre reading this, you have my full support to use these 14 teams.

2018.02.19 19:56 shmalvey Thoughts on The Island

General Thoughts
-No matter what your opinion is of this season, it’s undoubtedly one of the most important. The Island establishes Johnny, Kenny and Ev as three of the franchise’s biggest stars. Kenny hooking up with Johanna sets up the biggest rivalry in the show’s history between Kenny and Wes and leads to three seasons where their conflict is one of the biggest storylines. Johnny gets his first win and starts his climb to being the face of the franchise.
-I know a lot (or most) people don’t like this season. Here’s why I like it: This season is basically The Real World crossed with Survivor. The faceoffs usually take up about five minutes of the episode, and the votes take like three minutes. That means the other roughly 32 minutes are just dedicated to strategy and drama. Would I want that structure every season? Hell no. But think about the context. Up until Gauntlet 3 every season had been a half hour, and even on Gauntlet 3 they had to fit two daily challenges into every episode. In most seasons, drama and strategy either had to be either very condensed or left out for the Shit They Should Have Shown. So for drama and strategy to be the main focus of a season was a nice change of pace.
Also, this season ushers in a new era of The Challenge. The cast had only five people who had done more than four challenges - Tonya, Abe, Rachel, Robin and Derrick. Those first three went home early, Robin was a mess the entire season, and of course Derrick won. That allowed several of the newer people to step up and establish themselves. I think this is what BMP wanted from Battle of the Seasons, but unfortunately most of the people on that season didn’t turn into mainstays.
Finally, the Evelyn vs. Johnny storyline is probably the best season-long arc in Challenge history. It’s the dominant narrative throughout the entire season, and it ends in the most unpredictable way - with them winning together.
-Now for the negatives- this is the worst competition season of all time. Having just three people compete in faceoffs was just a terrible idea. The entire format was just ill-conceived - people who weren’t voted out in the first four episodes got a key, but in the next three episodes they didn’t get one. That gave the people who went into early faceoffs way too much of an advantage, and it resulted in a lot of people getting keys who really didn’t deserve one.
Characters
Johnny- There’s a ton to talk about here. First, I’ll just say it’s a borderline miracle that he won this season. He barely survived his vote against Abe (who asked to be voted out), he had his key stolen by Evelyn, he somehow beat Cohutta and Derrick in the sixth faceoff to get his key back (I believe Derrick was trying to win to earn a second key, which he would have given to Bananas) and Evelyn didn’t take his key after winning the final faceoff. Without a massive amount of help from Abe, Kenny, Ev and Derrick, there’s no way he wins this season.
Having said all that, I’m not one of those people who says Johnny owes his entire life to Abe. First of all, I don’t think Abe goes into the second faceoff if he didn’t want to quit. Still, Bananas definitely wouldn’t have six (or seven, depending on if you count Champs vs. Stars) wins, but he was still a pretty big character and would have been invited back at least a few more times. He probably goes on Duel 2 if he goes out early on The Island, and if he was on The Ruins for the challengers team he would have gone far because he would have been in an alliance with the Champs. Would he have done 16 challenges and become the face of the franchise if he hadn’t won The Island? Probably not, but I think he still could have become a big mainstay.
This whole season was just not a good look for Bananas. Not only did he rely on a lot of people to win, he treated Evelyn and Kelly Anne like absolute shit. It’s entirely his fault that Ev took his key and that she was considering taking his key at the end. But for better or worse, this season established Bananas as one of the show’s biggest stars. He got much more screentime than even Kenny this season, and he came out of the season as one of the show’s most polarizing people.
Evelyn- Evelyn is one of the few people ever to have the balls to go hard against JEK, so you have to love her for that. Her speech when she takes Bananas’ key and says “Fuck you and fuck your alliance” is probably a top 5 Challenge moment. Evelyn continued to prove herself as a beast competitively on The Island, beating Dan and Tyrie in a faceoff and winning the final faceoff against Dan, Johanna and Kelly Anne. Is it hypocritical that Evelyn decided to go with Johnny and Kenny in the end? Maybe a little, but it’s tough to blame her. $75,000 is better than pride. And then of course any goodwill gained by Johnny and Kenny from Evelyn at the end of The Island goes out the window on The Ruins when they completely fuck her over.
Kenny- Johnny is the vocal leader of the alliance, but Kenny completely runs the show. He had relationships with so many people on this season that it was going to be hard for him not to make it to the end. Kenny for my money is the best social player in the history of The Challenge, and this is the first time he ever really leads an alliance (I know he won the Inferno 3, but teams voted in the opposing team’s players on that season). And even with all his great social play on The Island, his best move of the season was hooking up with Johanna. It set up the Wes rivalry, which turned Kenny into one of the franchise’s biggest stars.
Derrick- I always see people say Derrick became a sheep for JEK. Explain to me how that was a bad strategy. Here’s his record working with JEK:
The Island: Win
The Ruins: Win
Cutthroat: Last guy on blue team
Dirty 30: 2nd Place
Paula- I’ve really never understood why Paula was so upset about Johnny and Kenny teaming with Evelyn. She was never going to be on their boat, it was always going to be Dunbar as the fourth person. But still, this was the third season in a row Paula lost in the finals, so I did feel a bit bad for her.
Dan- Other than Johnny, Ev and Kenny, he’s arguably the star of the season. He got white girl wasted literally every night and had some epic blowouts with Dave and Robin. Selfishly I wish Dan would have continued to drink because he was such an entertaining character, but it was nice to see him sober on Cutthroat.
Robin- Holy shit Robin was a trainwreck. I think she cried every single episode. And there was almost never a reason for her to be crying (although there was never anything as bad as on Exes when she started crying randomly about Hurricane Katrina). With her, Tonya, Abe and Dan all on the same season, The Island might have been the most mentally unstable cast ever.
Kelly Anne- She’s extremely attractive but she’s always just kind of rubbed me the wrong way. She seemed like she was a bit of a psycho, like the type of girl who you’d date for a year and everything was great, and then you come home one day and she burnt your house down, and then you ask her why you burnt your house down and she said because it took you five minutes to answer her text. Maybe that’s why her and Wes broke up.
Tyrie- The legend of Tyrie Ballard continued this season. The dude lost to Evelyn in a competition involving jumping. Insert black stereotype joke here. He was so bad that Bananas though he DQ’d on purpose. Possibly my favorite moment of the season was at the vote when Tyrie says he turned a lot of people’s heads in the faceoff with the giant ball when he was partnered with Jenn. Then it cuts to Dunbar cracking up, foreshadowing the epic rivalry between two gods of The Challenge, where they form the most iconic partnership of all time on Rivals 2.
TJ Lavin- I don’t really have anything else to say about anyone else on this season, but I have to talk about TJ. This might be TJ’s greatest season ever. He rips Dave a new asshole when he quits, and when poor Ashli throws herself into the faceoff with a bum leg he shits all over her. TJ hates quitters as much as Tyrie hates sleeping without shoes.

2017.11.10 05:00 Rebeltastic SPOILERS ... KellyAnne is happy Britni and Brad...

Kellyanne said that nothing happened between her and Brad. She and her now ex were having a bad break up and she became close to Brad during it but they never hooked up. She said Susie exaggerated it and spread it everywhere, including Tori and she's actually happy that Britni started hooking up with Brad during 31 cause it took all the heat off of her and now the attention is on Britni. Kellyanne is happy she is not seen as the "whore" now and someone else is.

2017.08.31 00:19 JuanRiveara Challenge Close Calls

Credit to LegendTykari3x on the Challenge wiki for compiling this together
Based off of a vevmo user (Youssarian) here are close calls for the challenge over the years
Challenge 2000 – Colin Mortensen was asked to be on this Challenge, but had other obligations and therefore declined.
Extreme Challenge – Kathryn Omeg was asked to be on this Challenge, but declined.
Battle of the Seasons (2002) – Ruthie Alcaide and Colin Mortensen (and Amaya Brecher was contacted) were supposed to be represent Hawaii, but Colin backed out a week prior to filming. Lori Trespicio was supposed to be Mike's partner for Back to New York, but she backed out due to the uncertainty after 9/11 and was replaced by Coral Smith. Jo Rhodes and Puck Rainey were originally going to be a team, but were dropped for unknown reasons.
Battle of the Sexes – Cara Kahn dropped out after seeing her edit on her season. Keri Evans and Becky Blasband were initially on the cast but either were dropped or backed out last minute.
Gauntlet – Jisela Delgado, Arissa Hill, Frank Roessler, Brynn Smith, and Steven Hill were all contacted. Vince Forcier dropped out when the location was changed from Rhode Island to Colorado. Malik Cooper and Timmy Beggy were a part of the initial cast but did not make the final cast.
Inferno - Piggy Thomas was initially cast and arrived to film, but was sent home for unknown reasons, edited out of the first episode, and replaced by Christena Pyle. Tonya Cooley was an alternate – her place went to Trishelle Cannatella when she decided to do this season. Dan Renzi was originally cast, but backed out to attend a speaking arrangement and was replaced by Syrus Yarbrough.
Battle of the Sexes 2 – Jisela Delgado backed out because she didn’t want to be on a Challenge with Coral Smith and was replaced by Kina Dean. Patrick Maloney backed out because he didn't like his X-Treme edit, and was replaced with Shawn Sealy. Brynn Smith was dropped from the cast after the producers found out she had a child. Ellen Cho was asked, and declined. Donell Langham was contacted, but did not make the final cast. Beth Stolarczyk dropped out and was replaced by Cynthia Roberts. Cameran Eubanks, though part of the final cast, originally missed her flight and arrived a couple days later than the rest of the cast.
Inferno 2 – Puck Rainey was slated to be on the Inferno 2, but demanded to be paid more than the rest of the cast; when they found out and became upset, Puck was dropped. Sarah Burke was asked but couldn’t go due to her law school schedule. Melanie Silcott was asked, but declined. Melissa Howard and Coral Smith were supposed to be on the cast, but dropped out right before departure. They were replaced with Beth Stolarczyk and Rachel Robinson.
Gauntlet 2 – Raquel Duran was cast, but backed out at the last minute to attend a close friend’s wedding. Frankie Abernathy originally accepted the call, but later backed out due to disagreements with the programming on MTV. Angela Trimbur also initially said yes, but backed out in order to film a movie. Wes Bergmann, Johanna Botta, Danny Jamieson, and Melinda Stolp were also asked, even though they had just finished filming their season 2 weeks prior, leading them to decline. Jamie Chung, Steven Hill, Melanie Silcott, Sarah Burke, Willie Hernandez, Dan Renzi (due to work commitments), and Eric Nies all declined this Challenge. Tonya Cooley backed out to focus on a reality-themed event. Veronica Portillo and Rachel Robinson were initially cast, but backed out upon finding out that Julie Stoffer and Beth Stolarczyk were supposedly also on the cast. Tina Barta backed out upon learning that Veronica and Rachel had done so. Coral Smith and Trishelle Cannatella were asked, but decided to film Battle of the Network Reality Stars instead. Both Shavonda Billingslea and Patrick Maloney originally accepted, then backed out for unknown reasons. Irulan Wilson was initially cast, but backed out after her breakup with Alton Williams.
Fresh Meat – Ruthie Alcaide was called, but was not a part of the final cast. Sarah Burke was asked, but had to decline due to her law school schedule. Jamie Chung was asked but declined. (side note: Evelyn Smith was actually contacted to be on the Real World: Denver because of her short stay on Fresh Meat, but was then told they needed fresh faces instead.)
Duel – Evelyn Smith was supposed to be cast but backed out due to illness and was replaced by Casey Cooper. Linette Gallo was asked but had to decline. Sarah Burke from Philadelphia was originally on the cast but dropped out due to a wedding. Melanie Silcott was asked, but declined. Julie Stoffer either dropped out or was replaced a week before filming. Kendal Sheppard was asked to be on this season.
Inferno 3 - Stephen Nichols was an alternate. Susie Meister was possibly a last minute replacement. Svetlana Shusterman, Beth Stolarczyk, Alex Smith, and Dan Renzi were asked and declined. Johnnie McBride was contacted for this Challenge.
Gauntlet 3 – Svetlana Shusterman and Jenn Grijalva were part of the initial cast. Jenn had to drop out and apparently Svetlana left at the airport. Apparently, Janelle Casanave and Melinda Stolp were the replacements. Stephen Nichols was an alternate. Brynn Smith was supposed to appear, but was pregnant and thus unable.
Island – Kendal Sheppard was paid to be an alternate even though she was not actually available. Stephen Nichols and Alton Williams were alternates. Although the producers were reluctant to ask Svetlana Shusterman after her dropping out of Gauntlet 3, they did anyway; she declined. Brooke LaBarbera dropped out of this Challenge and was replaced by Paula Meronek (although Aneesa Ferreira was contacted first and declined). David Leach was asked to be on this Challenge.
Duel 2 – Dan Walsh backed out at the last minute and was replaced initially by Dave Malinosky (who accepted and then declined right afterward because he was not home to make an immediate departure), and thus ultimately by Ryan Kehoe. Svetlana Shusterman was asked and declined. David Leach was asked to be on this Challenge.
Ruins – Devyn Simone was part of the initial cast but backed out last minute, as well as Cara Zavaleta. Susie Meister replaced Cara, and eventually met her future husband there. Alton Williams was asked but couldn’t go due to work, so he was an alternate instead. Svetlana Shusterman, Jamie Chung, and Brittini Sherrod were asked and declined. There were rumors that CT Tamburello was contacted, but several cast members threatened to drop out if he was cast, so he was not. Dave Malinosky and Trisha Cummings both declined this Challenge. Katelynn Cusanelli, Scott Herman, and Baya Voce all declined this Challenge as well; their Brooklyn roommates Ryan Conklin and JD Ordonez were also contacted to participate. Colie Edison was given an availability call as well.
Fresh Meat II – Jonna Mannion was part of the initial cast, but a lost passport at the airport cost her this opportunity to win money. As seen on the show, she was replaced by Evelyn Smith. Brianna Taylor was asked, but couldn’t go due to being on probation. Janelle Casanave, Evan Starkman, Scott Herman, Svetlana Shusterman, and Nick Brown were asked to be on this Challenge and declined. Ruthie Alcaide and Cohutta Grindstaff were alternates.
Cutthroat – Casey Cooper was asked and said no. Bronne Bruzgo backed out a couple days before and was replaced by Dunbar Merrill. Kenny Santucci backed out the day of and was replaced by Derrick Kosinski. Mike Manning and Svetlana Shusterman were asked and declined. Carley Johnson was contacted and accepted the invitation for this Challenge but did not make the final cast. Callie Walker and Josh Colon were both asked to be on this Challenge.
Rivals – Katie Doyle was supposed to be Sarah's initial Rival and had to back out a week prior to filming; she was replaced by Katelynn Cusanelli. Beth Stolarczyk got calls for this challenge, but could not do one because she was pregnant. Rumor has it that Abram Boise and Adam Larson were attempted, but Adam declined. Susie Meister, Tori Fiorenza, Tonya Cooley, Svetlana Shusterman, Brianna Taylor, and Johanna Botta all declined this Challenge. Dustin Zito was asked to be on this Challenge. Ryan Leslie accepted, but his rival Preston Roberson-Charles declined. Brad Fiorenza and Darrell Taylor were contacted to be a team, but both said no.
Battle of the Exes - Various couples were meant to be on this show, including Adam Royer (who failed the psych exam they instated as of this challenge) and Nany Gonzalez, KellyAnne Judd and Cohutta Grindstaff, and Brad and Tori Fiorenza (despite being married). Sounds like a lot of possibilities, but considering the lack of couples on the show, it's possible that some of these could have been alternates. Heather Cooke was also asked, but was told that they were "going a different direction." Emilee Fitzpatrick received an availability call, but nothing further. Kenny Santucci, despite being banned from Challenges, also received an availability call. Coral Smith was also asked; she would have been in lieu of Cara Maria Sorbello. She said no, but would have gone if she knew Rachel and Aneesa were there. Alton Williams and Irulan Wilson were also asked, as well as Landon Lueck and Shavonda Billingslea. Danny Jamieson and Melinda Stolp were going to be a team, but Melinda had to drop out due to work. Johanna Botta, Michael Ross, Casey Cooper (who declined out of respect to her boyfriend), Svetlana Shusterman, and Frank Roessler and Jillian Zoboroski all declined. Ryan Knight and Jemmye Carroll received an availability call, but did not receive an invitation to be cast. A team of Ayiiia Elizarraras and Joey Rozmus was attempted, but Joey declined. Beth Stolarczyk and Nehemiah Clark were contacted; Nehemiah accepted but Beth declined and threatened to get lawyers involved because she claims she and Nehemiah never hooked up. A team of Ryan Kehoe and Davis Mallory was attempted, but Ryan had to drop out.
Battle of the Seasons – Frank Roessler and Arissa Hill were asked, with both saying yes. Leroy Garrett and Heather Cooke were also originally meant to be a part of team Las Vegas, but then producers went about with the hybrid team for two reasons: the entire Las Vegas team was planned around Trishelle and Alton, and Cooke and Dustin refused to appear on the Challenge together. Carley Johnson was also supposed to be a part of the Fresh Meat team instead of Cara Maria; Cara didn't receive her own authentic jersey until after the first mission. There was a Road Rules team consisting of Rachel Robinson, Katie Doyle, Darrell Taylor, and Derrick Kosinski; apparently Shane Landrum and Susie Meister were also asked (Shane being the alternate). Real World: San Diego also would have had their own team, consisting of Brad Fiorenza, Robin Hibbard, Cameran Eubanks, and Randy Barry, but Randy backed out. Jamie Chung was also contacted for Team San Diego, but obviously declined. And then there is the Team Sydney situation, where the entire team of KellyAnne Judd, Ashli Robson, Dunbar Merrill, and Isaac Stout arrived but was sent home for unknown reasons before filming; they were replaced by team Fresh Meat. Laurel Stucky also was tested for this Challenge, but she backed out, not wanting to be on the same team as Big Easy. A Denver team of Jenn Grijalva, Colie Edison, Brooke LaBarbera, Tyrie Brown, and Davis Mallory was contacted but did not come to fruition. Nick Brown and Will Gilbert from Hollywood were on board but Brianna Taylor, Brittini Sherrod, and Kimberly Alexander declined. Callie Walker, Emily Schromm, Ty Ruff, and Josh Colon from DC with Mike Manning as an alternate were originally a team, but they were dropped when Callie became pregnant. Ashlee Feldman was the alternate for NOLA (and Sahar Dika had also been contacted); Nehemiah Clark was the alternate for Austin. Emilee Fitzpatrick was the alternate for Cancun; Ayiiia Elizarraras was also contacted but declined due to school. LaToya Jackson and Brandon Swift were alternates for St. Thomas. Baya Voce at some point was contacted; when she declined, Sarah Rice was cast instead. Luke Wolfe and Bronne Bruzgo were both contacted, but declined.
Rivals II - Numerous people were tested but not used, including Ashley Kelsey and Brandon Swift. Brandon Kane received an availability call but nothing further. Averey Tressler and Nia Moore were asked, but Nia was not available. Ruthie Alcaide, Susie Meister, Dustin Zito, Svetlana Shusterman, Katie Doyle, Marie Roda, Emilee Fitzpatrick, and Tori Fiorenza were all contacted for this Challenge. Ayiiia Elizarraras was an alternate, along with her rival Cara Maria who was eventually cast. LaToya Jackson and Laura Waller was another alternate team. Evan Starkman, despite being banned from the Challenges, received an availability call for this Challenge. Tyler Duckworth was dropped and replaced by Ty Ruff when the initial desired format, a Duel III, was changed to Rivals II.
Free Agents - Tyler Duckworth was part of the initial cast but dropped at the last second. Paula Meronek is speculated to have dropped out because of Tyler. Brad Fiorenza was originally going to appear, but declined due to the BGC-esque style the show was taking. Heather Cooke was slated to appear, but dropped out several weeks before the departure date. KellyAnne Judd also dropped out of this Challenge. Joi Niemeyer and Averey Tressler were female alternates; Nehemiah Clark and Trey Weatherholtz were male alternates. Sam McGinn was asked and accepted, but also was not cast. Heather Marter accepted the availability call, but declined the second offer to be on this Challenge because Dustin was going to be on it. Coral Smith was asked and offered a lot of money to appear, but declined because she was not in shape. Marlon Williams declined in order to focus on his music career. Ryan Knight was dropped after his assault on Frank Sweeney at the Rivals II reunion. Marie Roda, Katie Doyle, Svetlana Shusterman, Landon Lueck, Danny Jamieson, and Anastasia Miller were asked and declined. Susie Meister received an availability call, but declined as well over a pay dispute.
Battle of the Exes II – Trey Weatherholtz and Laura Waller were an alternate team. Many people were asked but turned down the initial call, such as Alton Williams, Brad and Tori Fiorenza, Brian Williams and Jenny Delich, Frank Sweeney and Alexandra Govere, Marlon Williams, Robb Schreiber, Jenn Grijalva, Johanna Botta, Laurel Stucky, Lauren Ondersma, and Susie Meister. CJ Koegel declined due to his modeling and fitness contract. Darrell Taylor and Rachel Robinson, Dunbar Merrill and Ashli Robson, Eric Patrick and Sahar Dika, Brandon Swift and LaToya Jackson, Ashley Kelsey, Emilee Fitzpatrick, Jamie Larson, and Joi Niemeyer all accepted the initial availability call but were ultimately not cast; some of these were likely alternates or alternate teams. Eric Banks, Cohutta Grindstaff, and Trishelle Cannatella all also received availability calls. Cory Wharton was asked and said yes, but all of his possible exes declined; the same situation happened for Derek Chavez. Shanley McIntee was contacted and accepted, but her ex Chris Tolleson declined. Danny Jamieson and Melinda Stolp were heavily wanted, but Danny had to drop out due to his work schedule. Others that were heavily wanted by production but ended up declining anyway were Anastasia Miller, Heather Marter, Svetlana Shusterman, and Trisha Cummings. Jasmine Reynaud accepted the initial availability call but declined the invitation to appear on this Challenge. Ashley Mitchell received an availability call but nothing further. Marie Roda accepted the invitation to appear on this Challenge, but her ex Robb declined.
Battle of the Bloodlines – Arielle Scott, Jamie Larson, and Bruno Bettencourt (and his brother Briah) all declined. Trey Weatherholtz and Laura Waller were contacted but unable to fit the theme. Emilee Fitzpatrick & her sister, Mandi Moyer & her brother, and Layton Jones & his cousin accepted but did not make the final cast. Brad Fiorenza & his brother were going to be cast, but his brother dropped out. Nia Moore and her sister Makeda were going to be cast, but Makeda dropped out to attend graduate school. Laurel Stucky and her cousin were going to do this Challenge, but Laurel dropped out after not wanting to sign the medical release form. Marie Roda and her sister Victoria also dropped out two weeks before departure. These two teams were subsequently replaced with Christina LeBlanc/Emily Reese and Jenna Compono/Brianna Julig. Brittany Baldassari was contacted and accepted, but her brother dropped out during testing. Derek Chavez and his cousin accepted but were ultimately not cast. 2017.05.03 21:37 frozenncyborg Nany and Bananas

I might've missed something a while back, but when exactly did Johnny and Nany date? I'm rewatching Free Agents and for the first 8 or 9 episodes there hasn't been one mention of them dating. Like Nany and him barely talk and her plot hovers around Cohutta and Johnny Reilly. After that I think they work well in the final, but again, no mention of any relationship history.
I knew that the Frank/Backpack rivalry was rumored to be manufactured by production - does anyone think they did the same thing with Nany and him? Maybe this is a known fact and I was oblivious, but Nany's commentary in Exes 2 seemed realistic so I figured there was some legit history there
